Would New Jeans have risen higher if it could debut in late 2021?

    Interesting hypothetical :!: My theory is Aespa vs New jeans would have been very intense only for IVE to debut and steal all the attention ( no pun attended!) it brings into theory would other groups that debuted become more popular with less debut competition. Would Nmixx and Lsfim had a stronger/ more successful debut? Would NJ and Aespa have that longevity to the face the new shiny groups? wait, would Lsfim still be a thing? Or would the name be reserved for the NJ members! :melon_think:


    I’m glad New Jeans debuted how they did with the 5 members ( no offence to the other 2) but part of their charm is in numbers alone! Just like Aespa being 4 :borahae:

    LSF would have been the F(x) to SNSD; given more experimental songs.


    The SM crisis would still have occurred no matter what so aespa would fall behind, but NJ, with its dominant position, would have crushed IVE and everyone else, like SNSD did to everyone else.


    One of the 7, Ryu Hanbi, did leave for an unknown reason, and I think the lone Japanese, Sakurai Miu, would not been a bad fit.

    Min Hee Jin's GG was hotly expected and she delivered fantastically. New Jeans from 2022 until few months back, was the phenomenal GG, which looked to claim the crown of SNSD in terms of dominance, which no 3rd gen GG could match.

    They still have the potential, if only business egos put their fights behind.


    Their records on Korean charts are stupendous, ranking with the likes of IU, Bigbang and BTS. Multiple songs charting in top #5 at the same time etc.,


    There is really nothing to 'rise higher to', until this year. And even now, they are doing pretty well in Japan.


    So I am good with how and when the debuted. However conspiratorial/accidental it was, it went off very good.
