like you pointed out, Twice in their early career dependent a lot on male fans and we all know male fans are more fickle than female

Those male fans will likely (1) move over to other newer groups overtime or (2) quit stanning Kpop because of life/relationship/reality hits etc

Those will bigger female fanbase or having the GP support will continue to perform better

It's simply a matter of age and timing. Has nothing to do with dating (we've already seen numerous examples of how dating had no impact on GGs), or encore(no Once is going to stop staning over an encoure), or quality (quality has only gone up over the years).

Twice still had single digit chart positions up till until the end of 2021.

Twice Korean fanbase comprised majority of male fans, about 70%. Nobody is suprised when these fans move on to the next fresh and young group.

Instead of wondering what did Twice do to cause the decline, people should ask what was happening around that time?

Let's look at todays top groups that debut.
Aespa debut at the end of 2020.
IVE debut at the end of 2021

New Jeans and LSF debut in 2022.

The simple answer is the male fans moved on at no fault of Twice.

maybe?? there were a multitude of factors playing into everything. the new musical direction, momo and heechul, the encore stage etc. it all could be a contributor but not bigger than them changing their sound. they lost korea but their international popularity skyrocketed after fancy. i think it all worked out well as they’re able to hold stadium tours across the globe.

i think their breakup news destroyed lang daniel’s career. i swear jihyo was keeping him relevant. it’s like i haven’t heard from this guy since then at all..

Jihyo is not really popular so I don't get why her dating would matter.

Twice simply had to change concept and the group had a gradual decline. They weren't flopping back then even if they couldn't put out smash hits. Way better than what they do today on charts.
