And people truly think, given HYBE being greedy + dumb AF with BTS albums since BE (max two versions retailing from $50 to $100) and the industry inflating their sales with 7383838 versions, 37373738 digipacks and 8383838 photocards, has surpassed BTS in anything when just ONE expensive version of their album was close to selling 3M 
Actually if every fan bought an album I believe it’ll far outnumber the mass buying lol.
I think like easily 10 million people or more in the world care about kpop groups. That’s a low estimate btw

Because I'm a casual fan of more than 10 groups and that used to be even more.
If all the multis and Army multis, Blink multis, Once multis etc, general GG stans or people who are interested in just one or two members in multiple groups, start buying an album of every group they like casually, sales will skyrocket.
Case in point: Everglow. A few years ago, many people 'loved' Everglow. Most of those just liked their songs and weren't hardcore fans enough to buy albums. If all the people who did like them bought an album, they would have been global mega stars.
I’m not even thinking multis I believe people who like a group and don’t buy albums far outnumbers those that do and mass buy.
But yes ofc if you include multis the numbers would be even higher.
I don’t understand why people try to so closely correlate album sales with touring
Especially in kpop where multis is such a big part of the equation and touring is always so much more sparse
Agree in the US for example it’s mostly a lot of multis and “kpop fans” who go to cons. I feel out side of maybe Korea and Japan where there might be a culture of “only fans goin to con” almost all concerts in the rest of the world are attended by multis.

Anyways, in 2020 NO ONE was charging that price (of course BigHit only beat themselves with PROOF later on in 2022) and this coincided with the Dynamite boom BTS brought to kpop. They should have far exceeded the $62-65 total for four versions of MOTS 7 that same year easily but they didn't, instead they were vague AF with BE Deluxe Edition at a time when everyone was being hit financially because of covid. Didn't offer the cheaper version until Feb 2021 but at that time the hype had already died down and many chose to pay bills than splurge on a kpop album.

Born Pink had cheapers versions via their 4 digipack versions (that released at the same time as the $50 vers)... BE was just the $50 ver at release with a 2nd (cheaper ver) coming out in Feb 2021 (3 months after release).

BE deluxe didn't have any randomised inclusions, so collectors didn't have to buy buy x versions. So not really an album that would be good for bulk buying

The difference is BE's $50 album is the global pricing with the US pricing being more expensive. And besides that, the BE deluxe (one) version sales almost totaled at 3M.
Meanwhile, the $50 pricing for Born Pink is only in the US and EU which probably why they got miniscule sales there. Cause it's only $16 across Asia or globally-- which makes up 97% of their total sales 🤔
In IDEAL world if every fan could afford to buy an album I believe EXO sales would have been much bigger than what you predicted lol
Baekhyun Snack Party ticketing queue reached over 600k people and that is for Baekhyun alone, I don't think exo has less fans than Baekhyun. I think their sales would be over 3m.
For groups like bts or even bp I think they would be able to push over 8m, I think bts would be able to sell like... 10m.
I am a bit skeptical about 4th and 5th gen sales, because I genuinely believe they are still forming their fandoms. But I think all top groups would definitely sell over 1m.
It's a difficult question since many fans buy multiples, and many fans don't buy any at all. Plus if fans were only allowed one each, many of the non-buyers might be more incentivized to pick one up to help out the numbers, but then it's hard to say how many actually would do that.
For TXT I'd guess (globally) 1-1.5m with their last album, and for the album we expect to come in Q2 this year I'd guess 1.3-2m
