Well a BTS song got a nomination
The Grammys has a stick up it’s ass and thus refuses to acknowledge popular Kpop groups and artists including JK, NJs, Fifty Fifty, Twice, and BP.
yall kpoppies need to curb your expectations. Kpop is VERY much a niche and unless your faves break strongly into the mainstream scene, nominations will be nonexistent. It took a good bit of time for BTS to become mainstream/ a household name which allowed them to be recognized by the Grammys to earn nominations. And that was well after a slew of achievements (top sales, top streams, many US awards, etc etc). Groups that sell 5 million but barely have enough streams to compete in the big leagues will be overlooked. Groups that are nominated for VMAs/BBMAs through kpop categories and not the top ones will be overlooked. Songs paid to become viral that don't crack even the top 10 on BB will be overlooked. Maybe this will be a wake up call for yall who think just because BTS did it that it was easy and any group can jump from 0 to 100.

Agreed, when an artist breaks records of Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift (2 of the hottest American artists) they deserve a nomination. But the scammys are all about who is paid off for the nominations.
With BTS as a unit out of the picture for a bit, "kpop" didn't really have a chance. Cupid/FF imploded due to internal drama and kind of peaked too early. Seven should have gotten something but I don't know how hard Scooter lobbied. NewJeans is too new and hasn't really launched in the US yet. No one else is on the radar.

I think kpop stans seem to downplay the difficulty of any achievement as soon as BTS gets it.
No kpop group is barely getting recognized at the Grammy until they rise to BTS level of impact in the western market

K-Pop has a long way to go to reach a place where the powers that be at the Grammys respect it, but it may never happen.

Butter/Dynamite/MU all have the same thing in common: they are mega-hits (streams and radio) by an artist that are highly recognizable by both the average listener and Grammy voter (ie BTS are mainstream A-list artists). Cupid was a short lived viral song on tiktok where no one knew who the singer was. Your delusional if you think it had an ounce of the same impact that Butter/Dyna had. Seven's disadvantages was that it had significantly less radioplay than it deserved, nonexistent Grammy voting cycle promotion, and JK's name recogntion isnt as obvious as BTS. All of this is why it probs wasn't as recognizable to Grammy voters as Butter/Dyna/MU.

Every week I would look at his spins and be so confused as to why they wouldn't play Seven in comparison to its peak viralness and streaming on all digital platforms. But then you have kpop stans who pick up the new word of the year throwing out payola when he didn't get any of that Scooter payola they accused him off. And in fact in Seven's 12th week radio took it off their spins and let it fall because of the constant album bombs from the US industry.

And yup, I agree. Grammys haven’t been a true indicator of anything the past decade or so. It’s all just unnecessary drama every year with all these snubs, K-pop or not.

They even snubbed so many American Artists… why people thought they suddenly gonna make an exception to Kpop ?
After them not winning the last 3 times they got nominated, I knew they won’t nominate them again.
Also who thought 50/50 will get a nomination because of a viral Song? Songs rarely get nominated for this sole reason. There is a lot of politics going on behind close doors!
Also Grammys are a nice honor, but so many Acts, Legends, haven’t won or have been nominated for a damn Grammy! You aren’t less successful or great because you didn’t win one.
