Why aren’t NewJeans/Ive/Le sserafim considered nation’s girl groups yet when their career is similar to SNSD/Twice?

while those songs are successful, they are not close to gee and cheer up

It took a few years for both SNSD (2009-2010ish) and Twice (2017) to be called nations girl groups

it's not as simple as having a hit song and a popular member

i thought newjeans and ive were considered nation's girl groups of smth

Tbh I don't think "nations girl group" is a thing anymore, I think there's too many contending girl groups with lots of popularity nowadays... like nobody has really pushed themselves to the forefront uncontested

You can't really be called the NGG when you aren't clearly the overall strongest gg. Currently theres a lot of strong competition so it's too early to say 1 group is definitively on top

They haven't earned it. Think about it like this. When SNSD broke up people were are still are devastated. People miss SNSD to this day. If Twice went poof, people would be devastated for just as long. If NewJeans, LE SERRAFIM, and IVE went poof tomorrow, in a few months they'd be replaced. You have to truly earn a title like that.

Other than a few members who promoted with IZ*ONE, these groups and idols literally just debuted this year.

Is the "Nation's Girl Group" such an easily claimed title that a girl group can grab a hold of it in literally the same calendar year they debuted?

bc neither korea or the companies that house those ggs want just korea, that's what korea biggest chart their Korean name to a enlgish one, that why all those companies get their ggs playlisting in spotify, that what all the articles that come from those ggs call them "global rookie"

How are LSF included in these conversations?

Their achievements digitally pale in comparison to IVE and New Jeans this year, and their physicals are strong but not game changing either.

Hype Boy is above and continues to maintain way more longevity then Antifragile, Attention hit 500k ULs, and Love Dive and After Like by IVE both blow Antifragile out of the water both with raw charting and longevity. Fearless is about to be overtaken on the daily chart by Eleven, released 6 months prior to it.

IVE and New Jeans are clearly the 2 big acts from this year.
