Why itzy "cheshire" flopping charts & youtube views wise?

Now we know how many views jyp groups actually get without YouTube ads lol. But it has 600k+ likes. I don't know about chart rankings.

I think dropping the song MV right at the moment MAMA started was DUMB
People had to make a choice to watch MAMA or watch Itzy and stream the album. Midzys probably chose Itzy, but casual fans or fans of other groups probably skipped straight to MAMA.
Could see it with how slow the Bop/Flop thread went.
I think performing the song at MAMA was a good idea, but they should have maybe dropped the MV a day before or a day later.
But other metrics beyond youtube seem... ok?

This was going to be my question for Midzys that follow charts and sales. I was wondering if the fandom was gonna start fading away since it seemed so many hated Sneakers despite its great digital performance (i never understood the hate it's a bop), plus there has been so much hype for all the new GGs i was wondering if Itzy was gonna start losing fans to them. But if sales are tracking better than Checkmate, that should be a huge relief for Midzys, Itzy and JYP.

This is the main reason why companies avoid releasing music close to award season. Not only will the comeback not qualify for any awards until the year after, you get so much less attention because everyone is focused on the award show. So they either waited too late for it or they did it way too early and should've waited until 1st quarter '23. I think fans could've survived with only one comeback if it meant that the second comeback wouldn't help anything.
And seeing that Itzy was backpacked with their world tour and KCON and the amount of time they spent in LA, they probably should've waited until next year. I really don't get this last push for money from companies honestly

Huge in what? Huge in lack of streaming ofc. Most fans wanted to watch mama performances too, and unfortunately YouTube also crash on the same day mv released, the problem even continues the next day.

Midzy fandom is not huge, if u want to compare ITZY with another BIG4 take group like iKon or Red Velvet, their "fans" are mostly company stans from Once or Stay fandom, people don't really care about them.
You just have to see the engagement here that there is on their non-comeback content which is close to nil compared to Twice or SKZ from the same agency which can have active threads only if you post a random funny thing from twitter. I take the example of JYP here but it's the same thing for Red Velvet from SM or iKon from YG.
ITZY is this group of the company appreciated by a very large majority of company stan mainly, but which will always remain the "second" choice. I don't like to say that for music groups, I think we can like several of them equally but it is clear that unfortunately a lot of kpop fans not do it this way, they say they like a group or an artist but in reality it's is not really the case, they appreciate a song, an album but are not really "stans".
And yes JYP's recent shitty picks have turned a lot of people away from ITZY, many JYP stans are already ready to move to NMIXX when they'll have their first sucess, some who like the old energy of ITZY moved to Le Sserafim (i guess) and the little success stan who remained had to go to newjeans/IVE.

Would also add Twice CFM to this. Didn't even have plans to promote it beyond 2 award show stages but the response was so big they had to give us the digital release and some promotions. If the song is good MAMA will blow it up, if its mediocre it gets drowned.

Yes i liked the EP, my fav is freaky i like this chill vibe from this song, it's something they haven't tried yet. But I think it would have been necessary for cheshire to be a b track and for the real TT to be more "ITZY" with a more powerful sound and a more energetic choreography. We haven't had that side of ITZY this year and I'm starting to miss it.

You're trying so hard to tell us that that you didn't clean your ears for a week, the song is obviously so good it's too obvious like don't expect people here are stupid, we have ears too. Just bc you don't like the group doesn't mean you can lie, most people and their mothers even admit that the song is really good and one of the best, you can do that lies to some of their songs but not Cheshire and Snowy, it's too good.
