Here are the nominees for each award

I feel like this is the fairest and the most reasonable distribution of awards for this year. Like you could easily make the case for each winner here.

Itzy might be the toughest one to defend but because MAMA made up the rule about rookies not qualifying for it, Itzy is a reasonable choice given the competition. Also remember that there was a lot of outrage that Itzy didnt win last year even though they tore up the MAMA stage, which makes it likely that they will win it this year. It's not like they dont deserve it either, they made a real resurgence with Sneakers even reaching top 4 on Melon Weekly which is not that easy to do.

The only thing that would throw a monkey wrench on the whole thing is if MAMA decided to be treacherous numbskulls and select one of the musty nobody rappers and soloists like LYW, Beto, Melonmance or whomever for one of the daesangs.

True, either of those two did the best objectively, but i'm trying to be equitable and give everyone an award that they can reasonably claim (ie not be shaded for getting an attendance award). Itzy didnt do as well charting wise but they DID make headlines with this comeback, charting their second best song after Dalla Dalla iirc.

I think it set a lot of records for GG albums, it's closing in on 3M album sales. Plus every single song is at least a moderate bop, not a single blop or flop on it, which is insane. It was just more impactful than the other BG albums that might have outsold.

Also, the difference in sales between it and the other top BG albums isnt crazy huge like in past years, Proof is at 3.3 mil i think and neither SKZ nor NCT nor Seventeen are higher than that as far as i know.
