    I think Giselle did lack it factor or charm

    There re problem, karina speak japanese better than giselle...i know giselle was student in international highschool (japan)and from rich family.

    She is still okay singer and main rapper but she is still least popular member.


    Even ningning get brand since she is pretty popular member with fanbase bought.

    I remember Giselle cbar bought 13k album for Girls and other member cbar bought more 100k in their cbars.

  • What brands decide to do is not up to SM. If SM went to brands telling them what they can and can't do no one will work with them.


    Giselle has the least fame from what I can tell. What brands want is to sell and they will use who sells better. Just how it is.


    As for SM mistreatment idk I'm not in the fandom enough to tell but isn't she supposed to be a golden spoon? I keep hearing that rumor everywhere.

  • I feel like giselle anti's put her through much more.


    Her recent photoshoots and CB's showed that the SM designer that worked with her for looks really started to understand how to work with giselle's natural looks among other things.

    She goes from generic SM aesthetic to incorporating things that make giselle look especially better that others may not be able to pull of and excluding looks that giselle herself may not be able to pull off.

  • Someone not getting as much camera time is not mistreatment. K-pop fans throw that word around where there are actually people being mistreated in the industry.


    As for Giselle’s lack of screen time/brand work, this is how K-pop and all pop works tho? Brands choose to work with members that are more popular. The company is going to push and support that. There can be any number of reasons why she doesn’t click.


    Not sure why you had to shade NingNing by saying her fans are bought, but whatevs.


    More popular members also often have organized and active fandoms with enough people participating to flag the attention of big brands, who watch things like social metrics.


    My member biases are popular and unpopular. When Valentines activate to support Jaehyun (a popular member), it is a massive trend felt on socials and worth media value to brands like when he went to the Prada show. When nuoyis activate to support Kun (a much less popular member), there’s the occasional ripple that bubbles up but it’s not the same. This matters. Brands watch this and are looking for members who drive engagement in the marketplace. It’s why it’s not enough to tweet a hashtag but to post, share and like on relevant content too. (That’s the difference between engagement and likes, which also matters.)


    I can also look across NCT most recently to see members who aged well and/or better styling to become more popular members, so it’s just a process. Maybe one day she’ll be more popular too. :pepe-shrug:

  • Giselle has the most entertaining personality in the group (not much competition though) so she might focus on getting variety work. Problem is she's Japanese so it might be harder.

    i remembers olens being total asholes with Lisa, they still are if Blinks let them. Lisa was lucky to be the most popular member outside Korea, but inside korea they still mistreat her every time they find a chance to do so.

    brands will seek out an idol / group for CFs and endorsements based on perceived levels of popularity

    if a member isn't as popular as others they get less calls from the brands

  • How can you said that when NingNing is Chinese lol which is worse and she still get treated well. Giselle isn’t popular so brands only want the 3 members but SM said OT4 or none.

    Ningning is treated worse than giselle for sm promotion like giselle is allowed the collab with sm idols or write her lycris...

    Ningning get only ost with winter...no collab or solo cover.

  • I'm saying Giselle could become more popular by focusing on variety work, but it might be hard for Giselle to get variety work because she is Japanese.

    If she's good at korean and knetz like her personality, being japanese doesn't impact her, Gidle Yuqi is chinese and she's the member most known for variety shows, she also went to most of the biggest korean variety shows solo.
