Opinion on kpop stans using the word c*nt and c*nty to describe idols

I think that word originated in Queer spaces (like a lot of slang tbh), so yeah, it doesn't bother me.
Bitch used to be an insult. Now everyone's a Boss Bitch. Thot was an insult. Now, people make thotty edits for KPOP idols.
It's pretty much the same. Taking what was an insult for women and trying to repurpose it.
It'd feel weird for 13 year olds to be throwing it around (as they probably are), but yeah, that's my only hang up.

It's used as an insult here so it's always been funny to me when I see people use it as a compliment but I've gotten over it now I guess.
However, it's been weird seeing people use it for minors like wonyoung though because even if the word has kinda strayed away from the original meaning, calling a minor that is still strange.

Language always evolves if you can’t keep up with growing trends simply don’t participate in those spaces. It’s not hard. And if you can’t understand or as someone brought up if idols can’t understand that would be on them. My lack of understanding is no one else’s fault and certainly not the speaker’s.

I will add lulu that from my Australian perspective the word's use depends on it's context
if one is saying it to a stranger then it seems very much used as a word of insult
now if one is using it as a joke or ribbing between friends then it's more acceptable...
but again I'm like you and don't particular care for internet lingo

Funny how Ru Paul looked down on New York ballroom culture back in the 80’s/90’s yet continue to steal culture from them and presenting them as a new thing by watering it down. I guess anything to make things more palatable for his young white viewers who don’t know any better.
