I keep seeing it more and more
They call everything c* nty and everyone a c*nt nowadays
It took me a good two weeks to tame the urges to fight people bc I kept perceiving it as an insult

For someone, whose native language isn't English, it sounds a bit weird.
as if people are calling idols v*****s...
lmao
Isnt that gay slang that turned into “internet culture”
I guess so but it just recently became common among kpop stans
I think that word originated in Queer spaces (like a lot of slang tbh), so yeah, it doesn't bother me.
Bitch used to be an insult. Now everyone's a Boss Bitch. Thot was an insult. Now, people make thotty edits for KPOP idols.
It's pretty much the same. Taking what was an insult for women and trying to repurpose it.
It'd feel weird for 13 year olds to be throwing it around (as they probably are), but yeah, that's my only hang up.

Yeah, me too. There are so many acronyms that I just have NO idea what they mean lol. But, I pretend that I do.

I don’t like it. Now that I know where it’s originated from I guess it’s fine but C*nt is an insult here. Like I got called that back in London because I spoke in my language on the bus and my English boyfriend punched the guy right across the face.
(The three of us got thrown off the bus. )
Also your idols are not your friends. Imagine they checking what the fans talk about them and seeing them being called like that. If they not native speaker they would react similarly.

I can imagine some idol ending up thinking "why are they calling me a v****a?"

Yeah when I found out it's origin it's obviously sth positive
But before that I was like what did this idol to deserve that.
It's used as an insult here so it's always been funny to me when I see people use it as a compliment but I've gotten over it now I guess.
However, it's been weird seeing people use it for minors like wonyoung though because even if the word has kinda strayed away from the original meaning, calling a minor that is still strange.

Same. Lol
It’s good to find out the meaning at least. I thought it was just edginess or something.

where to get an English boyfriend who defends my honor?
In Ireland we use that word a lot lmaooo for some people here it seems like it’s every second word out of their mouth. I have no issue with it lol
Also I’m the gay scene I notice it used a lot to describe things they like

I would love to direct you to a cool place but I picked him up after a night out in a kebab shop queue 4 in the morning. Sooo… I guess go to party and get something to munch before you go home.

That's the most British thing I have read
Language always evolves if you can’t keep up with growing trends simply don’t participate in those spaces. It’s not hard. And if you can’t understand or as someone brought up if idols can’t understand that would be on them. My lack of understanding is no one else’s fault and certainly not the speaker’s.

imo a kebab shop at 4 AM is a cool place to meet someone
It depends on the context
kpop stans use it in endearing fashion
I can imagine some idol ending up thinking "why are they calling me a v****a?"
Are you saying v a * i n *? Just asking bc I'm confused

Yes that's what they are saying

It's bc like ... I'm even more late in knowing slangs and sometimes i ask myself "what are they talking about?" Kkkkk

Well both words are synonym
to a non English speaker they are same
For an English speaker now it could be an insult or more recently an endearing term

Tbh i didn't even know what c*** means until i entered this thread hence me asking if that was really the word you guys were talking about...
Idk, even as GenZ I can't bring myself to use words like biotch, cvnt or sl*t in friendly or casual manners. It's so gross to me. If you use it I don't mind but it's just not for me.
I will add lulu that from my Australian perspective the word's use depends on it's context
if one is saying it to a stranger then it seems very much used as a word of insult
now if one is using it as a joke or ribbing between friends then it's more acceptable...
but again I'm like you and don't particular care for internet lingo
I just pretend everyone’s Australian and then it’s all compliments from there
.
Us Aussies use it all the time even as a term of endearment believe it or not.
Welp, officially too old for this slang

who said that? ru paul?
the use of C*nt as an endearment originated in the underground ballroom community way before Ru Paul and mainstream media decided to appropriate it. now that term is being misused to describe whatever….
it was used by gay black/latinos in balls to describe a transwoman/femqueen who looked very “feminine”, “real”, “sexy” and “soft”. also where the term “realness” came from.

Ok noted
as long as they don't use it on minor idols, its fine. Internet language is a thing and its perfectly fine to me.
gosh recently used as a term of endearment? i blame Ru Paul for pilfering this term from the ball scene and making it seem like Drag Race invented it. Funny how Ru Paul looked down on New York ballroom culture back in the 80’s/90’s yet continue to steal culture from them and presenting them as a new thing by watering it down. I guess anything to make things more palatable for his young white viewers who don’t know any better.

I mean the only internet space I'm active at is among kpop stans
And kpop stans have only started using it for the past two weeks or so. When I said recent I referred to them.
