Is IVE 2022 successor to Twice 2016?

But IVE is not really cute.

I never get the twice and ive comparisons. If it's because of digital success there have been many ggs that did well. Also too early to place ive near such a top kpop group.

Style, concept and sound they are nothing like twice.

Everyone compares them to Sistar not Twice.

They are in a similar position, actually closer to snsd imo because of the bonus individually popular members who have had a decent amount of activities early on (Taeyeon - Wonyoung, not a perfect 1 to 1 comparison but similar enough as it girls already very much ingrained in the public consciousness)

Both Sistar and Twice had nine #1 singles on Gaon. Pretty eye opening achievement.

It’s a new wave of gen I guess they succeeded twice but not overall I’m happy if they’ll be new ngg they have good songs them and new jeans are the best and can top kgg for 3 more generations I’m actually happy unlike when you all said aespa is the top hell no with polarizing songs and even I like Nmixx I don’t think they’ll top of the song sounds like aespa I really don’t like group with polarizing songs only 2ne1 and gidle can be that group

In a certain yeah they’re similar to twice. Their debut did well but they hit big with their 1st cb, and the 2nd one is also doing well.

They stick to one concept : Twice cute,/IVE chaebol.

In term of promotion they follow twice path frequent cb to keep the momentum.

In term of individual promo it’s more SNSD/BP than twice.

I get it, IVE keep releasing title tracks and all of them are hits after hits after hits within a short period of time, number 1 after number 1. It is the first time since Twice.

I am not even going to be mad if IVE becomes NGG, their title tracks have been 3 in a row bangers

Yeah the spam release style of IVE is similar to twice's. They should reduce their comebacks but starship is earning bucks by not releasing mini and milking these single albums.

They are at least releasing only doubles, in 6 months their discography is 6 songs.

Twice was already at 13 songs after 2 EP's, with in a year Twice already had a 20 song discography

Some other groups take years to get a 20 song discography.

Ive may end up similar if starship makes them comeback again this year. And it may be a full album. It's spammy in nature compared to some other 4th gen ggs.

I kind of like it, many times B sides in an album are throw away songs.

If they keep doing singles and maybe an extended play here and there, it may be a good approach.

Starve their fans of content, but keep feeding them a few months at a time.

Seems like a mix of Twice comeback schedule, with Black Pink lack of content.

So far it has worked, we will see in the future.

Yeah. Also it's a very packed schedule for the members. Ive promotes for few weeks. In August they had japan schedule and this comeback. Wonyoung and yujin have individual schedules too. It must be stressful.

But it's definitely helping in keeping up the momentum.

twice stopped being the top gg for a while (obviously they are are still one of the top groups) but right now is blackpink so it does seem to me your thread is a shade towards blackpink but you always downplay their achievements what can I expect from you.

I guess the question can only be answered by K media right?

like they designate who is the NGG or whatnot...

and even if one group is given such designation it doesn't mean the previous group "loses it"

And I think I agree with Icy, give IVE more time, they are not even 1 year. So let's see how they will do next year.

Btw, IVE will have Japanese debut later this year so I think their next Korea cb wouldn't be until next year.

If SSE follow Sistar, their first three releases were singles then the next will be full album.

Twice seems to really love New Jeans…never seen that kind of love from them for any other group.
