So Proof's collectors addition is not going to be counted towards the charts upon "company's request". Like it's just SUS, at this point I'm not even surprised by the shit this company pulls but can someone explain?
So why is HYBE doing this?

I mean isn’t it great it’s not counting towards charts? At least armys won’t feel pressured to spend money on it. They will only do it if they sincerely want to own it
I just wish even though it’s not counting towards charts, these albums still count towards BTS total sales. I want that Chopard award

they love to dig their own grave lol

That's actually great, I would lose faith in ARMYS if it was sold out. I hope we save money for actually supporting BTS's music (if we are lucky enough to get a physical album )

Yeah my first thought was that hybe isn't confident it would sell alot like School's re-issued limited edition so they didn't want the numbers broadcasted, but to not include them anywhere is too much imo

Honestly nobody knows but if this is how they are going to move in the future I hope BTS leaves. Even Jin was surprised about the frequent merch drop recently.

That’s a very whack move. Whether the albums sell or not, it’s not their business to have it not count towards charts. They are fucking up BTS ifpi units
-
i doubt they've sold more than 100 tbh lol
Armys we are finally learning

i wonder how many albums cokodive had access too tho but fair point. i just know most of the people i know who are hard core collectors that are adults with income scoffed at this price. only a very specific group of fans is going to be buying this

They only care about revenue.

Considering that they re-signed in 2018 for a contract ending 2020 they probably are in the midsts of talks right now since this contract is till 2024

They must've had a few thousands at least. I agree, the price is insane, there's no way I can justify spending that much money.
But I also think this whole 'collector edition' thing is just a marketing ploy. If I remember correctly they also marketed BE (Deluxe) as a collector limited edition item, and it's still widely available to buy..

I'm just glad that a lot of ARMYS can finally see this company for what it actually is,GREEDY AND INCOMPETENT.

this forum has been dragging hybe for their greed and incompetence since BE era, with ofc the exceptions of hybe stans who were defending the price of BE and calling us poor. it seems that this time even them cannot defend this

Why have it not count towards the charts? If fans want to buy an album they will but why take away from BTS sales? Fans are accountable to themselves and plenty chose not to buy BE deluxe and Proof Standard. Why would they feel obligated to buy a $300 album to chart when they could just buy the standard or compact disk. Those still count towards charts. That whole statement about not counting towards charts per HYBE’s request really rubs me the wrong way.
-
So Proof's collectors addition is not going to be counted towards the charts upon "company's request".
I hope that the various companies that compile charts do not adhere to this request.
Charts should aim to reflect sales as accurately as possible. They should should not be including or excluding legitimate album sales arbitrarily.

Not yet you mean. I am up for adoption!!!! I come with my own modest BTS collection and purple in my hair to match my blood!!!

Only kpop fans would complain about a “Collectors Edition” product that every legendary act and popular thing in pop culture has, being expensive and not counting for the charts, something that is exclusively limited and with a small quantity.
This is clearly aimed towards those people who want the want and collect these types of things. When people realize they don’t have to buy everything they would be better off.
And yes it’s sold out on Weverse too.
-
The exact wording was "This album is a limited edition, and the sales of this album will not be counted in the music charts at the label's request." Label = Big Hit, isn't it? I get many ppl here dislike HYBE/BH for various of reasons but this really isn't a sabotage attempt.
BTS has always played fair re charting to maintain and ensure their integrity re charting...they don't need it to count or for haters to use this as ammo that they are trying to inflate their sales or force fans to buy a crazy expensive album for charting. It's just, simply + purely a collector's item.
Yes, it's sold out on Weverse now. There's a huge portion of ARMY that are very well off and can afford it.
