And stans will still buy it and boast about achievement on stan twt: "they did it with just single album". Lol why do you have to release full album when you can achieve the same thing with just singles or mini with less effort. (Bgs still does cause their tt tracks suck and hope for one of their bside somehow to blow up on tiktok to maintain their popularity)

2021 had a lot, when I looked back at my list.

I think full albums are good to have more content, but when you want to shine a light on each song and give each song "Title song treatment" then mini albums are good way to do that.
That's why YG invented the term mini album and originated it. Like the fan light stick, it's something YG came up with that the rest of the industry copied and is now a staple in Kpop.

there are a lot of artists putting full albums with 10+ songs, is also normal for rookies to not release a full album out of the gate

Wonpil debut has 10 songs. Day6 has never released a single album, it is always either a mini with minimum 6 songs, or a full album, all of which they write 100% of their lyrics and co-produce all of them.
Imagine that you get more music in an album from a group whose members produce their own music, than groups that don't despite having 3742847282 people helping them.
