Well it’s not that controversial seeing all the mess about it over the week but Pink Venom is crap.

I didn't like forever 1 either tbh

i liked it from first listen lol i’ve seen many complaints about this song but I don’t agree with any of them

- people say they don’t like that the song starts right away without an intro: this is such a non-problem lol it’s a catchy song throughout who cares that it doesn’t have a typical intro

- they say the verses and prechorus are weak compared to the chorus: um yeah no the verses and prechorus in this song slap; in fact i like them in after like more than love dive lol

- they say the sample is unnecessary and doesn’t match the rest of the song and sounds dated: the sample is literally the hook in this song lol it’s absolutely necessary to cap off after the chorus ended at that hanging “what’s after like” note. It elevated the catchiness also much

- they say the rap doesn’t sound good and is unnecessary: also no, it definitely works in this song. In fact the rap here sounds way better and more cohesive than some gg songs in the past years lol

- this one was my own concern: i thought they repeated the “you uu and i ii” part too many times and it could get repetitive in the long run, but actually that’s not proving to be the case, at least not for me. It’s like they put crack in this song lol I can’t stop looping it in my head

B side is superior, but I haven't heard BP b side

The bloodbath was way less bloody than I thought it would be (aside from some Blinks VS Onces, but that's been around forever sadly). Or I'm just super good at avoiding the worst of it. I don't know how.

There are now 8 songs on Melon that have over 312k ULs. There was a time earlier this year where the #1 song only had like 295k ULs. Charts are jam packed with competitive songs, even national hits like Tomboy and hits like Pop have been pushed out from the top 10. My poor girl Yena didnt even have room to breathe, her SOTY quality song just got steamrolled by the new Hybe girls.

Yena did it with Smiley! Charted two straight weeks at #10 on the hardest chart in Korea, Melon Weekly Top 10. First and only 4th gen soloist that has done this that i know of.

I think it's forever one from SNSD

It was a little underwhelming. Some groups dominated in one area and other groups dominated in another so there weren't really the head to head moments I anticipated.

Kinda disappointed. SNSD and BP's releases were not that interesting. Twice's release was good. I like theirs the most out of the three. However, IVE took the no.1 spot for me. They continued with their sound and it was amazing including the bside. BP's biggest enemy is Teddy. And I hope that IVE's next release will be a mini album.
