In previous generations, there was no question in SNSD being number 1 and then Twice and later on BP taking that place as the gap between them and the rest of the groups was big and the name they had made for themselves spoke by itself already. The 4th gen has a lot of groups doing well. but there's none that hold the irreputable first place. They're all currently in a "trendy" phase and each group keeps one upping each other, be it on album sales or the charts. There are also groups like Le Sserafim and Nmixx who can rise at any point with the help of one hit song. But yeah i dont think there's an actual number 1 girl group in the current generation and i dont think there's anything wrong about that? Multiple groups are doing extremely well and thats great, i dont get the obsession with being the number one
There's no #1 4th gen girl group right now.

I honestly have no idea..Itzy had their first hit in years in Korea even if it didnt do well internationally..and they have over 800k sales with their new album without even digipacks..and aespa can still rise..but it does feel like IVE and NJ are kinda hitting all spots rn altho my personal wish is for Le Sserafim to rise

Oh I'm talking mainly about international charting which basically means streaming
Sales & Korean charting can go either way & Usually every GG grows their sales with each CB so we knows
Touring & streaming is what will really define who's #1
Will take years tho 👀

That's not true
After Like trended #1 ww and have 1,3M likes in only 2 days. Ads don't do that
everygroup trend n1 worldwide
1,3m likes don't give u 42m likes ex: twice has less views in a day than ive but double the likes
and ive has already charted in yt global chart with reduced view
like don't fight me in smth obv

Do they? i feel like they have good streams all around, spotify too..their views arent that surprising
yes, they do, they did for eleven and love dive
stray kids its the same case and they well in other areas too
its most likely for music shows wins bc those dont take in count spotify
-
-
I mean they already have combined sales of 1,6m with only 6 songs, the highest ULs this year only behind BP, all of their singles were on melon top3, in fact they have 2 songs on melon top10 as we speak and their global charting leads with a huge gap in spotify, apple music and youtube. Things may change in the future but right now they are leading imo

As far as i know Le Sserafim didnt have ads and neither did NJ..but who knows in the future lol
Youtube views are the least important anyway, but it does show general interest.

Newjeans is doing that with a debut album, Didn't they place 3 songs in the top 10 of melon for a little while (maybe top 12).
So for now, I would say the only competition Ive has is NewJeans.
But IVE has show they can replicate their success over miltiple comebacks, we will see if NJ can do the same.

All #1s are only as good as the immediate previous release.
Twice had 9(?) back to back #1s on the digital charts.. but are they #1 of the 3rd gen now or even then, because BP had its own stack of achievements.
So number #1 claims are just ephemeral boasting of fans.
In this year itself, the #1 4th gen GG title has passed from Aespa to G-IDLE to IVE to NJ.. back to IVE.. what if Billlie throws a monster hit next week?
so meh.. let the fans have their exaggerated bragging while it lasts.
