is "experimental" music for girl groups on the way out?

While they are different from the regular sounds, they aren't kpop experimental if you get what I'm saying lol. I think the retro/2000s/rock-emo style music is coming back in rn along with the y2k style.

If it means we get retro megabops like Scientist, Mago, Star, and Weekend, i'm ok with it.

But if it means we get mid, generic RnB, trap, or hip hop songs that don't stand out, then a hard NO.

Depends on what you consider experimental.

I've seen people consider Eleven as "experimental" for its tempo changes, and other people say it's a "normal" sounding song.

Also, there is nothing that one would consider "experimental" about Black Mamba for example. It's a typical EDM kpop song. It's not like aespa only make "experimental" music and suddenly stopped it with Girls.

And the only thing "experimental" about their b-sides is that they are hyper-pop/laced with hyper-pop influences which is still a territory that hasn't been explored too much in the kpop genre (thus being experimental for kpop).

Experimental songs are the best when its done right, Sm has some great ones but they sometimes also miss, and JYP just can't do experimental song besides SKZ.
