I haven't really gotten invested in a group for a while now i have continued to like kpop but i wasn't a die hard fan of any group lately aside from SNSD and TWICE which are veterans at this point, i started to get interested in aespa and i been trying to become a fan but i fee everywhere i go to read or talk about them is filled with so much hate that it's making it hard for me to want to become a fan, it's just so draining to read day after day after day so many posts or articles about aespa being hated, do any other MYs feel this way?
It's getting so tiring being an Aespa fan

I have definitely seen an inordinate amount of hate and shade directed to them in Anon. I actually was expecting several threads on their YT Showcase when i first logged in today but to my surprise, i didnt see any, at least on the front page. Maybe they did so well that even haters couldnt pick on them this time.

I'm not a MY, so maybe this doesn't concern me, but I have seen a ton of hate towards the group, so I know how you feel. My advice is to stan who you want and don't worry about the toxicity. Block it every single time you see it with no hesitation. I once almost left a fandom because of the fans and would have, if not for some very good advice that Kitty gave me on here: "YouChan, stan the group because you like them and they make you happy. Don't let these random strangers online take something away from you that makes you happy." That wasn't word for word at all, but basically the gist of what she told me, and it always stuck with me.
Now, ultimately, the choice is up to you. It's okay to not know an answer now, or ever. You'll also need to think about if it's really worth it to you. My advice though is to stay with the groups you love, no matter how bad the fandoms are. Heck, as a Stay and Blink, I've had more than my fair share of being in toxic fandoms. Don't let the bad people online rob you of things you feel like you can enjoy.
I know how draining the toxicity is from experience, but generally, that only motivates me to stan the group more. My line of thinking is: "Most of the fandom doesn't seem all that good. The few good fans must feel really alone and like they aren't heard. I should be a fan so those few good fans have someone else like them to understand their struggles and be like them. We can endure this mess of a fandom together. Who knows, maybe we'll influence some of the bad ones to be better people while we're at it?" If it's toxicity in general and/or from other fandoms, I look at it is: "I need to show/prove to other fandoms that there are still a few good people left in this fandom" or "The idols don't deserve this, I should step up and protect them (within reason obviously)."
I'm sure that all this sounds like one huge jumbled mess, but I hope it was able to help you in some way. Long story short: do what makes you happy. There will always be toxic people nearby, no matter what it is.

ahhh I just usually try to enjoy content on my own without looking at that kind of stuff on social media... it's not worth it.

I do like G i-dle a lot and i was considering becoming a fan but then the Soojin thing happened and it made me not want to which is kind of weird since Soojin wasn't even my bias, i first discovered G I-dle because of Miyeon and Soyeon doing the KDA collaboration and i quickly became a Miyeon bias, probably because i main Ahri in league of legends, and i started to follow their releases and some of their content (it's hard for me to actually get invested you could say i am mostly a casual fan from most groups i like the exception being SNSD and TWICE) but i was ready to get invested into G I-dle then the Soojin thing happened, Soojin always caught my eye a lot in every MV but i almost never become a fan because of visuals so even if she caught my eye so many times i never considered even close to my bias, but i did love her red hair in HANN and her opening shot in seรฑorita and i found her stunning in LION, when the controversy came out i started to get more invested in her, i liked that she spoke out about how she did rebelious things but she never bullied anyone and i followed her case closely, i still think she is innocent so when she left it made me sad and made me kind of step back a bit from G I-dle

I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me.
A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day.
This day we fight!!

It gets draining indeed. The amount and depth of malice and pure hatred many people here feel toward them is unfathomable to me. Just recently, Aespa were sexually harassed in a school festival and some people here were deadass claiming it was orchestrated by SM to get Aespa some sympathy like I said simply unfathomable, you'd never see such a thing said to another group in the same situation but it's like for some reason some seem to forget that Aespa's members are actual human beings and aren't willing to even extend basic human decency toward them.
You can clearly see Aespa fans make significantly less threads about them in the main section, so I bet many feel the same as you.

Thank you, this did cheer me up a little and i agree with what you say, it just gets annoying when all i see is bad posts about aespa every single day, and i know a lot of MYs are getting very cocky too which lure even more haters

Yeah those comments were so fucked up, some people really have no decency, i can understand some fan wars they are bound to happen but when people crosses the line i lose all respect

I'm glad it cheered you up. I know how you feel. It does have the potential to do that and it is scary. How about this? Sometimes, seeing a group you love get praised by non-fans feels great, because you know they actually mean it and are not being biased at all. Every time the hate gets too much, message me and I'll link you some Aespa videos to cheer you up, send you some Aespa memes, or just start praising them. Would that help any?

Unfortunately, as long as kpop is a "success" hobbie and everyone keep focusing on charts and numbers, itll always be full of hate.
Kpop is essentially music sports and we know how riled up sports fan get

Had no idea Aespa was getting that much hate.
Trust me, I get what you mean. My two ults get dragged continuously. It's calmed down with the emergence of the new gen, but KPOP is utterly vitriolic and filled with a lot of hateful people.
It also has a lot of sweethearts too, so when it gets to be too much, just take a step back and surround yourself with positive energy. Whether that be not visiting the forum for awhile and just focusing on enjoying the content, or go to a safe space to fangirl with your fellow fans.
