Alexander the Great of Macedon, after conquering the Persian Empire, attacked India.
He defeated a local ruler in a river the Greeks called Hydaspes, which is in Punjab. There he heard there is a great river called the Ganga (which the English call the Ganges).
Alexander ordered his generals to draw a plan to advance to the Ganga, but his generals, having been away from home for years, said it was more prudent to return and think about what to do next rather than go further.
So, leaving his dreams to conquer all of India behind, he had to return. On the way home he stayed at Babylon, present day Iraq, where he died and the Greek plan to conquer India was scrapped.

The new album of BTS is strange ; it is much more expensive than usual, with only 3 new songs (I have already pointed out that since "Eight" was released, BTS has released fewer new songs than IU including this album, despite of the latter having released no songs since Jan of this year), which shows it is not going for the best selling album records of all time but is mostly marketing to its existing Army.
I have written several posts that inside of Korea , among the younger generation IU is now once again ahead of BTS in terms of popularity. That is just Korea, but in other countries a newer generation fans are following other acts instead of BTS.
It looks like BTS won't beat the record of Adele, whose "21" sold about 27 million, or Ed Sheeran, whose album in 2017 sold 6.1 million, and its "Map of the Soul :7" will probably be BTS' highest selling album of all.
Jin will have to enlist early next year, and given the way things are, the next BTS album with all of its members will probably be around 2028 or so unless Mr. Bang is willing to let Jungkook enlist with the 1994 line at once.
I think BTS did hit a wall, and Hybe changed its strategy - stop the expansion, and retain its fanbase for a potentially 6 year long 'hibernation' .

The correct strategy would have been enlist them at once while other acts gain more ground around the world, and strike with a vengeance.
Something must have not gone according to plan, probably when BTS did not get the exemption which the politicians from the last govt had promised but did not deliver.
I do think Mr. Bang probably learned from the Napoleonic experience and decided to limit the extent of BTS' expansion to prevent a "War of Liberation" by other acts in 2023, probably led by (put your fave's name in here), but that seems to signify the limit of BTS' extent of power.
