IVE‘s success contributed to Lesserafims hype imo

  • I‘m feeling like stating my opinions today so imma continue doing it.

First and foremost, it’s obvious that NOT ONLY IVE‘s SUCCESS HAS CONTRIBUTED TO LSFM HYPE.

I don’t wanna see stupid people replying stuff like „yeah but first hybe gg/ Ssamkura/great visuals/“ etc. I know that the girls have earned their success and hype is well-earned, but I’ve got a point to make.

For eons, Wonyoung and Sakura fans have been at each other’s throats and people have loved comparing them and pinning them against each other.

Then IVE debuted as the first post-IZ*ONE group and beat the produce course, as well as do much better than everyone expected.

So kpop Fans being kpop Fans love comparing groups against each other, which is why many excitedly awaited LSFM‘s debut to see whether they would defeat IVE.

And that imo added to the hype and anticipation, since people were burning to know which post-IZ*ONE group would come out superior, as there were comparison threads before LSFM even debuted.

Adding onto that the long lasting Sakura-Wonyoung rivalry, it clearly added to the hype imo.

TLDR: IVE‘s successful was unexpected and kpop Fans love comparing groups to each other, so they were even more excited for LSFM debut.

What do you guys believe? Some might agree or think it’s obvious, but I haven’t seen anyone address this topic, so I wanted to do it.

  • I wanna be wrong about that but long term I don't see IVE competing with Aespa, Lesserafim, NMIXX. It is just a big agency, small agency thing.

Starship has grown but I don't think they are mentally capable of managing a top tier group. We've seen similar scenario happen countless times with small to mid tier agencies. Infinite, Beast, Gfriend, MonstaX all had great momentums and were/are are successful but they couldn't really reach to the top.

hear that, thats called uncle fans, its iz*one carry over

  • It's a factor for sure. Competition is a good thing for labels, you can bet that fanbars and fanbases are gonna go all out in the next round of comebacks to outdo the others. EG. Wonyoung Cbars will redouble their efforts seeing as how Sakura C bar just edged them out in album sales.

But the biggest factor is just the star quality of Izone. Their chemistry just jumps off the screen. It's no secret that every single member has been successful post debut, except for poor Chaeyeon and Minju. Everyone is charting, selling albums, appearing in varieties, bagging CF deals, winning Brand awards, and even doing small acting gigs.

Izone managed to cultivate a small but dedicated fanbase that speaks loudly and way beyond their numbers. 23,000 KWizones spent over THREE MILLION DOLLARS just for the chance at seeing Izone remain together. That's over 100 bucks per person =O=O in donations. And who knows how much money they wouldve raised if the C Wizones and J Wizones wouldve been allowed to donate, probably over 5 MILLION dollars at least.

  • I don’t know but I noticed something when Sakura China bar published their sales two days later WY fanbase confirmed that they raised over 98k albums I don’t think they would’ve gone that far if Sakura fans didn’t brag, it’s clear that the next album Sakura fanbase will try to break Wonyoung’s record.

Even if they have a lot of wizones who support both groups, it’s clear the rest chose their side.

Sakura and Wonyoung fans have been enemies the second Wonyoung was announced to be IZ*ONE‘s center.

To be even more precise, Wonyoung fans only started hating Sakura fans when those mercilessly bullied a 14 year old for daring to become center in Sakura‘s stead.

There’s no Love Lost between these two fandoms and I don’t see them becoming friends anytime soon

SISTAR were digital Queens though, all the way to the end.

Humm Sistar was the only gg that managed to beat topgg SNSD record on kcharts (9 consecutive #1s VS 8 consecutive #1s) so I wouldnt be so bold to say that Starship doesn't know how to keep momentum when their first group debuted with a hit and disbanded with a hit. IVE isnt far behind to any gg right now, matter of fact they are leading internationally and have the current it girl while also being stable and 3rd best performing 4th gen group on kcharts. For album sales, in 5 months they sold 700k+. So only a major fuck up would make them lose momentum, or they could still grow steadily like BTS that managed to be the only exception to the rule.

  • That‘s one part of it. The other part is that kpop Fans Love comparing groups to each other in general, which is why many people were excited to see whether LSFM would manage to defeat IVE

i guess it can be a good thing or a bad thing like

an eagle soars higher to beat a fellow eagle

but a kite trys to cut the strings of it's fellow kite

That‘s a very interesting, but also a very accurate image.

In this case the fans probably truly want one group to be completely on top of the other.

Some have said that this WY vs SK fanwar is one of the most intense GG fanwars since blackjacks vs sones, so it’ll definitely be interesting to witness in the future

it is isn't it - one might say everything selfmate says is "interesting" ;-)

and for a lot of them they'll show it with both methods as well

the good ones will compete by streaming more, buying more, positively hyping their fav up more aka eagle

the bad ones will trash the other group and all that aka kite

BTS would have a word with you lol, even if you want to get into starship, Sistar was one of the best performing act digitally during 2nd gen, from their debut to their disband song
