Are you a fan of this recent trend of debuting groups with no positions?

i mean u dont really need to know positions to find out who is the best at what
so its ok
-
I personally like it! Why limit to one position when an idol can be amazing at multiple? There are a lot of 3rd gen rappers with really neat vocal colors but don't sing when I feel it'd improve some songs if they could
-
I prefer when groups have positions, but for some groups it's fine if they don't have it. It's harder nowadays cause companies focus a lot on 'allrounders' so skill level is often more similar to eachother
-
I prefer positions, but it's fun to guess what their positions would be 👀
-
positions are stupid imo. lead sub main blah blah blah
-
Yes and no. Some groups have the positions speak for themselves, but some others it's not entirely clear what a particular member is supposed to contribute, so the positions are kind of nice for that.
Except when the position ends up being something like "maknae" and that's it, like, oh okay, they aren't supposed to be the best at anything but they are young!
So pros and cons to announcing or not announcing.
-
Reason why they shouldn't exist in the first place is for example when member collab with other artists or join other groups and suddenly lose their original position.
You can be the best singer in your first group but than end up being just a backup vocal for your new one ...
I remember as A.C.E's Chan was in UNB and Donghun made fun of Chan saying it was expected for Chan to lack in vocals since he wasn't a main vocal in UNB and than joked that Chan should not lack in vocals if he comes back to A.C.E xD
-
Several groups end up outgrowing those positions through hard work eventually so I think it's fine.
-
its almost as if, they're keeping it a mystery to keep us on the edge and invested. We'll find out soon enough ig. In the end, they all have a role in it.

I think it's good because you can find out for yourself who's good and people don't argue if positions don't always accurately reflect skills. Plus people improve or regress in certain aspects over their careers but positions are rarely if ever updated.
I don't need a K-Pop company to tell me who the best singer, dancer etc is, I can usually tell for myself. And if the difference isn't big, then maybe there's no need to call one main and one lead or whatever anyway. Sometimes the skill level difference between main and lead vocalist is HUGE, sometimes they're practically on the same level, sometimes a lead vocal is better than the main, sometimes a "sub" vocalist is technically better than the lead, etc. Only leads to fanwars, just let people do their best.

whenever I see your dp I wonder when did I commented on this thread?
-
Yes specially since alot of members are very young and have space to improve in different areas

I prefer it this way, though I do like the leader position since it helps to have a lead on any type of team for cohesion.
-
Kinda harsh to say, but I think is getting used a lot because sometimes the groups lacks a stand out person to the position, so nobody will be dragged by expectations, like a main vocal should be a good singer. I don't like it in that sense, but if SNSD debuted without positions I wouldn't care, since I know the members stand out in their areas.
