Blackpink had much more hype if you take in account how much kpop rose in the past 6 years. The old Blackpink predebut thread had more pages than most artist threads. The individual member pictures threads had over 20 pages back in 2016. I think they would still be close to the highest debut mv views if they didn't release two MV's and not exclusively on VLIVE for the first 8 hours.

Not really, they are getting (positive except for garam issue) attention more than let's say nmixx or ive but aespa predebut was a big mess for bad reasons but yeah
