If BP didn't exist, some other group could have capitalized on this concept instead. Not sure if at the same level of success to influence others, but in this what if, it would just mean YG would have another group with a different concept.
Maybe instead of continuing on their style of music, for some reason, he decided to follow the crowd and have his own bubblegum pop group instead of BP concept. In this case, we probably won't see as much unless some other group reaches similar level of success with this concept which isn't a guarantee. Current line up of groups and their concepts would be different.

Nah we'd still see groups with cute/innocent concept be the norm probably, cause TWICE was the dominant gg in Korea until recently.
And that's okay, there are always groups modeled the trendiest group at the time. Alot of KPOP groups debuted with a innocent/cute concept when TWICE/GFRIEND were popular with their songs, SNSD basically paved the way for cute/innocent groups, and now BP are influencing companies to debut their groups with a girl crush concept in hopes of targeting the international market.
idk why salty 2nd gen stans are always in denial whenever this question comes up......

Probably not as much, but let's not forget that this is the easiest concept to be popular with in the West, so any groups who wants to try their luck there might prefer a girl crush concept.
If it's the easiest then why are most ggs not doing anything at all in the west? the group which charted the highest besides blackpink on billboard 200 was twice at 70 something. imo it's not even about concept, some groups just have more natural appeal

Nope. Black pink popularized the girl crush concept in Kpop for the future gens and once companies saw them doing so well, they all went and debuted carbon copies of them.
Most new ggs are gonna continue to go girl crush until there’s another successful 9 membered bubble gum pop gg in kpop.

Don't do this. I just pointed out how the concept was already done and successful before (4minutes peak was with this kind of music). Of course Black Pink made it out to another level but at the end of the day is just one recycled concept I'm sure a lot of people still would try doing if BP didn't exist.

no, because before Blackpink, bubblegum pop was a safer bet and easier to profit in Korea and Japan than girl crush.

Groups are going global now because of BTS. There would’ve been a spike even without them tbh. Lots of companies are catering to the western eyes more so Korea.
And looking at some of the recent 4th gen girl groups they are going ITZY’s route with the whole teen crush concept and sound. Apart from Gidle I haven’t really seen a girl group with a straight up girl crush concept it’s like they added another layer to it or are exploring different sounds.
So to answer your question yes.

Idk how long you've been a kpop fan but the concept of "girl crush" has been around way before Black Pink. The only difference is the nomenclature of the generation. Even S.E.S and FINKL and Baby Vox did "Girl Crush". The only difference was it was marketed as "Girl Power". It's not that Black Pink popularized the concept, it was just that the trend was heading that way again. It usually goes cutesy, then hard, then sexy, then cutesy again.

1. blackpink didn't invent GC they took the concept of their predecessors and elevated it to a new level (especially internationally)
2. If BP didn't exist I'm almost certain 2NE1 would remain cos YHS is a misogynistic ass.
3. Could other GG do GC - of course but would they have become as big - dunno its hard to rate the success of a hypothetical group doing GC on a similar level.
