I don't know what the big issue is but for those that are put off by YG reaching out to some reactors, let me tell you it isn't something new all companies do exactly the same the only difference is that YG asked them to give them a shout out.

Form of Therapy reacts to so many MVs that I believe he would react to Treasure regardless.
It's especially dumb because the literal argument in favor of reaction videos is "reaction videos are basically promoting their artists and helping them get popular so they should stop doing copyright strikes against channels" and now suddenly it's "how DARE you attempt to promote your artist with reaction videos?!"
wow companies send a press kit too
Fans villainize promos too much lol, there's always a race to prove their faves get the numbers they get with less promo than other competing groups. Promos help artists and there's no denying that. It's like when solos fight who's the least pushed member in the group. Like that makes a difference? Why would you want your faves to be less promoted?
Everyone does promo so why is asking reactors to react to their artist music videos a problem?
As long as this reaction is honest, I see no problem with it?
I'm sure radio stations, magazines, websites or TV shows were never paid to promote an artist
Brands also pay celebrities to present their designs so that they become bigger. This is nothing different.
and with Youtube reactors it's suddenly a problem? Okay.... sorry but this whole discussion is so unnecessary.
By the way, YG can send me some Blackpink albums over, then I'll react at Blackpink too. I'm happy to sacrifice myself there.

Everyone wants their fave to be the underdog that magically made it with no resources, company back up, budget, promotions and etc. Then they want to use that "fact" to put everyone else down and dismiss their achievements and success. That's why you see the most simple uncontroversial forms of promotion get vilified like this.
Advertising is such a huge part of our daily lives and is crucial to many kinds of jobs and businesses so it's mind boggling seeing people in the kpop community treat it as if it were dubious or unethical. Ridiculous kpop rivalries and competitiveness do really dictate the way kpop fans CHOOSE to view any given issue, it all depends on whether it's a friend or a foe doing it lol.
Amen.
Woahhh, so kpoppies dragged this to another level that Form of Therapy had to address it. ![]()
Treasure being the main event!!
let's go boooooooys!!
This is standard practice in almost very form of media using…..”influencers”. Companies give previews of movies, early editions of tech and games, and often extra incentives that normal consumers wouldn’t normally get (eg customised/branded gear) all to show off their product to a wide audience as possible.
I’m not surprised at all if kpop companies asked YouTubers to react to their groups when the time comes because that’s part of marketing nowadays. Same way we have YouTube ads for kpop. Basically assume everything related to kpop in YouTube is media play, nothing is "organic"anymore
.
When there's promos, fans complain. When there's no promo, fans complain
just go down the BP route...
no comeback no issue ![]()
Damn that essay is way too casual. I mean, email.
