Top 5 Best Selling Badge Events on AKP

Does this indicate that the Kai peaches event was most successful? Interestingly, several groups on here had repeat events, but it seems their FIRST is most successful? I think I'm reading this right, but does that speak to diminishing returns?
The Hot Sauce and Next Level events would have sold A LOT more if they didn't have a purchase limit.
I remember the Bambi event was pretty successful too.

I think you're right about that - those pushed us to rethink the limits too because there was a lot of anxiety involved.

Your current rank at #1 among AKP Sugar Mamas was well earned

Well, it depends on the criteria you are using. If you are concerned about conserving resources, Kai was optimal for that. He apparently was the best balance of number of versions and gross sales. Then the question would be, would the ratio be better or worse with more or fewer options?
If you are only concerned with gross sales, it would be Twice. The extra sales from Twice is likely due to them having so many versions though. What is the marginal value of each additional version? Would it have an outsize negative impact on the main badge to not offer the others? It actually probably would, because the difference in sales between the main badge and member badges wasn't huge. Onces like their member badges. If Twice didn't have so many members, their sales wouldn't be so big. To keep having those sale numbers for them, you need to offer the extra badges.
With Alcohol Free, the main badge was purchased 22 times. The member badges all ranged from 8 to 16 purchases.
For Formula of Love, there were three different main badges along with the member badges plus boo. Boo sold 12. One of the mains sold 15. None of the rest broke 10.

You're behind half those numbers

As for whether a group's sales diminish with subsequent events, it's hard for me to tell because
1) I don't know when these badge events happened just by looking at the shop badge
2) many of these events were sales restricted or were more surprise drops and may not have been well knownimage (8).png
Here's all the events I used

It was in a pre-bought badge petition - so in that case, if you missed out on the petition, you had no chance for the badge unless you purchased it from someone who did go in site unseen. I know why we decided against that model, but I do wonder how users felt about it - did they like that model? I think atropos asked why we didn't continue? I assume they preferred that format - but maybe there were others who preferred it too?

So it could have sold even more. (I actually love that video. I would like one if I wasn't so cheap lol).
So for the main video
Perfect World - 30 (likely more)
Alcohol Free - 22
Formula of Love 15, 7, 9 for the three main versions respectively
You're probably cannibalizing the main sales when you offer different versions

It seems that for the badges arrived late in the year the fandoms had a hard time buying. Users struggled to farm enough akorns

i think it also really depend around the time they were release
because there was some times when there was LE badge after LE badge and it was a real struggle to be able to farm for some knowing that more popular group or more anticipated comeback would be out soon
Is this suggesting better scheduling? Hmmmm

In looking at this chart, I think it’s really important to define amount restricted events because people who don’t know are already drawing some inaccurate conclusions. For example, the NCT Dive Into You badge was capped on sales and only had one version. The Rose solo was also capped IIRC but had multiple versions..
Also I think there can be a timing component - like the Favorite cb was very close to Sticker, when Sticker had a ton of badges. (I’m not complaining because vampires.)

Exactly. This is the raw list but I don't know which to include and remove without someone telling me more info. That's why I originally only posted the top 5.

I’m in meetings for the next two hours but can add some context after that.

Hold on, let me try to define that...

Thinking about your comment about diminishing returns, you may want to limit member versions to the first LE a group has won in a year and see how that impacts sales. The total may be lower, but that could be offset by the conservation of resources, plus it might likely result in more sales for the main (I'd have to do a deeper dive into the data to see if the buyers are purchasing the main plus members or if these are separate buyers). You could pbly then have an additional group winner who more than makes up for any lost sales.
Because with the competition method, you are definitely missing out on some sales. There's not a whole lot of difference between the top sellers. If they all came back the same month, accommodating more of them with fewer badges each would likely garner you higher sales than denying one to give another low volume member sellers.

Wow Once and ExoLs are rich rich on akp!! And here’s me going on so many threads annoying people just to farm akorns lol

*Regrets not coming on akp on black Friday*

Welp, I guess the only thing that I can say confidently then is that you really don't have enough data to determine if there is a group or two who are your best target customer, especially since BTS doesn't even have a full entry.
I would like to suggest a drawn out community event. Hold a contest for a LE gif badge. Tell the fandoms to run elections for which older video they would like a single gif badge of. These should involve multiple rounds. Then have them petition. Take the five highest vote getters. Release the badges all at once in the shop for a decent amount of time. Give a prize to the highest selling fandom. This should be a long running contest over several months in total.
