You're saying that Itzy had a stronger fan base in the US one year after their debut than Aespa does? What are you basing that on?
Also, Aespa's sound isn't similar to Blackpink's. Blackpink is more hip hop and Aespa is more experimental. They're doing phenomenally well in Korea right now, better than any 4th gen group, just take the win rather than complain that they haven't become the biggest kpop group in the US yet.

it's not a good song

Hmm, the song is nothing special.

The song lacks vibe appeal. Maybe the person who "leveled up" "Next Level" could do the same for "Savage"?

I know you're trolling but honestly the song is so bad. It's one of the few songs I've heard in my entire life where it's actually takes immense effort for me to finish. My body feels like it's in pain by the time they get to the second verse. I swear I'm not exaggerating.

The word savage was historically used pejoratively in the west by imperialists.

And my mom calls me savage sometimes in French, is she now an imperialist?
-
idk probably because Pocahontas isn't Disney's best work and it's super old.
Though, the song is kind of catchy ngl... ignoring the historical inaccuracies.

They better not read the translation. I mean I like Aespa's music, but their lyrics...

I think it feels better overall. The "dance break" part at 3:22 leading into the vamp was effective and felt way smoother than the original. Cut out the "What?" during the dance break and it would be performance ready. "Gimme, gimme now" still reminds me of something a little kid would say. It cues this up in my mind every time:

The people on this thread saying that this song isn't popular in the west cause they don't like it must be delusional as if how u personally feel about a song determines its success like I can hate a lot of songs but they'll still be successful or.not regardless plz check yourselves
-
I feel like they'll be more popular in the west if/when they drop the Naevis cult, and the clunky AI's. Interesting experiments but they'll do nothing for Aespa long-term. In general I don't think storylines do much for western fans. Instant accessibility is what they should be aiming for. But I don't get the impression they're targeting the west.

Don’t you know I’m a savage? It’s so corny I can’t
Still think aespa should sing Next Level on that Macy’s Day parade.. it’s catchy and from Fast and Furious so it’s familiar to the US audience..

Plus they could have done the actual choreo to NL instead of just standing there awkwardly.

I (still) L-UV, L-UV that groove in "Beat Drop" at :48 - 1:08. It's such a sweet spot! The rhythm of the lyrics on top of the groove is such a big arse vibe! So infectious that I have to move when I hear it! KOLDEJA's seasoning on this song made the vocals feel more soulful and cool!
