Why aren't there many large groups these days?

Large group = more $$$ poured into them. Not many companies can afford to deal with 10+ member groups
-
i think it's just the trend right now to debut smaller groups, but larger groups can also be really overwhelming for new listeners. it can be hard to differentiate between 12 people and learn all of those new names. too many people to care about. and then there's having too many people and not enough song so there's always someone who gets like .6 secs worth of lines, or almost no screen time. and they all have to split pay, so if some members are incredibly popular they end up having to subsidize everyone else in the group. a lot of brands won't want to pay for the whole group either, so there's members being left out or they just won't get any brand deals at all.
it seems like bigger groups are a good idea in theory when you have a shit ton of trainees, but they're way more of a hassle in general

N.Cus = 9 members (8 at the moment 1 on hiatus)

because smaller groups is the trend nowadays. people prefer 4-5--6-7menbers the most because it's easier to learn names, easier to form a connection with each member and you won't have to pretend to like someone just because they're a filler member put in the group. 8+ members have always been too overwhelming for me at least and it often makes me give up on trying to stan someone
