TWICE TITLE TRACK TOURNAMENT ANNOUNCEMENT

Hello, everyone! So a few days ago, I decided that I wanted to hold an event and I made a poll asking people what they would prefer to participate in for the month of December. It was between a TWICE Random Advent Gift Calendar and a TWICE Title Track Tournament and the Tournament won over the Advent Calendar by 9 votes!

So, here's the announcement thread for it

The TWICE Title Track/Era Tournament is where title tracks go up against each other to see which is AKP's Favorite TWICE Title Track! This will be all Korean Twice title tracks excluding Merry & Happy, The Best Thing I Ever Did, The Feels and Cry for Me.

START: November 30 @12:30PM CST

• Each poll will stay open for 24 hours and I will try to be consistent with the times that I publish the polls

LAST POLL: Wednesday, December 15 - Thursday, December 16

• The final round will start on December 15 and end at the end of December 16 since it's the most important round.

WINNER WILL BE ANNOUNCED: Friday, December 17

IMPORTANT INFO

1. You do not need to be in the ONCE Cult or even a ONCE to participate!
2. You don't have to participate in all the polls, just jump in whenever you'd like

Description of Each Round

ROUND 1: Every day for the first round, I will post a poll with 2 different title tracks and all you have to do is choose your favorite one of the two! Each poll will last 24 hours before closing automatically.

WHEN: November 30 - December 7

• The winner of each poll will advance to Round 2 but the losers will be automatically eliminated.

ROUND 2: The winners of Round 1 will move into this round. Two of the title track winners of each poll of round one will go up against each other in Round 2.

WHEN: December 8 - December 11

• Like the first round, the winners of each poll will advance to Round 3 but the losers will be automatically eliminated.

ROUND 3: The winners of Round 2 will go into Round 3, the winner of the December 8 poll will go up against the December 9 poll and the winner of the December 10 poll will go up against the December 11 poll.

WHEN: December 12 - December 14

• The winners of both polls will go up against each other in the Final Round

FINAL ROUND: Voting here will last 2 days instead of just one. The two winners from both polls of the third round will make it to the final round and this round will determine AKP's FAVORITE TWICE TITLE TRACK

• FINAL ROUND DATES: December 15 - December 16
• Winner will be announced: Friday, December 17

Merry & Happy maybe but it's not a title track...

Or is the title track always the first song on each of Twice's albums? Cause that would make The Best Thing I Ever Did the title track of Year of Yes (the Yes or Yes repackage album).

Because I've been surprised when people don't include Merry & Happy as the title track but it makes sense that Heart Shaker is the title track of that album... it's the promoted song. 🤔

But then we have aespa where SAVAGE is #2 in their mini album while aenergy is their first track...but SAVAGE is also the title of the album...

So I guess it's the most promoted song is the title track. It's especially difficult when there are multiple music videos in the same album 😤

The title track is usually the first song on the album, but not always. For BLOOM*IZ album, Fiesta was the #2 song. For Savage album, Savage was the #2 song. The place is not important, it's just which song they choose to promote as the title track.

For The Year Of Yes, The Best Thing I Ever Did is 100% a title track. It's just that the album was released as a gift for ONCEs so they didn't promote it.

The Feels was a single but was also a B-side in Formula Of Love (I kinda wish it was a double title track btw). Cry For Me was a true single, but its English Version was a part of the Taste Of Love album CD Version.

So to be fair, if we are not considering non-titles, Merry & Happy, The Feels, and Cry For Me would not be in. The Best Thing I Ever Did is a title track, so it must have been in, but there are no other songs that it can compete.

But if we consider all of these, the perfect choice to battle would have been Merry & Happy vs The Best Thing I Ever Did (both Christmas songs and both are gifts) and The Feels vs Cry For Me (both singles).

But then we can also mix up since Cry For Me and The Feels don't have similar concepts. Maybe Cry For Me vs I Can't Stop Me and The Feels vs Scientist. But anyway, I am hoping for the tournament.

Then technically, The Feels isn't a title track because it was added as a track of the full album...😯

I was thinking of doing The Feels and Cry for Me vs. The Best Thing I Ever Did and Merry & Happy but that would extend the tournament too long and the week before it ends, I have finals so it'd be extending until my first day of final school exams for the semester.

And I don't wanna do that because that would cause problems for me personally haha. I wish I could tho...😔
