IVE vs Source NGG: Which group will be bigger?

  • Source ngg if it comes to longterm I think.

Post produce groups usually decline after a short time. I think Ive will be an exception, but I don't expect them to become much bigger after debut. It also depends on who will be in the source group.

  • A set up. No mid tier company will be able to compete with hybe and big3 in intial hype. People already expect sakura's group to sell upwards of 500k.

This is IZONE's level so it's kind of unrealistic. I think they can have a massive debut if they follow Blackpink/Aespa dynamics like having a physical release only after some comebacks but if they debut with an album I don't see them reaching these numbers right out of the gate. I bet something between 100/150k.

100k-150k is very low for a hybe group with Sakura and Chaewon no matter if it's debut only. Both of whom have the biggest japan fandom cmiiw. IVE will itself do 100k above and they r from starship.

Well, I'm using Iz*one as a reference. IZ*ONE ‘COLOR*IZ sold 282,816 copies on Gaon (last update) and they were a combination of 12 fanbases together so I think 100/150k for a group where only two members are a part of it's a good start. Source Music doesn't have a legacy when it comes to physical sales and Hybe it's all about boy groups. HYBE will only start to explore the GG market now in a more direct way. Aespa (the only GG to reach these numbers )was a highly anticipated GG for a big 3 company already known for successful GG's. They made two prior comebacks one of them being one of the biggest Kpop songs of the year so if you want to use them as a standard we need to take into consideration the whole scenario. Not even Enhypen and TXT sold 500k at the debut.

Aespa sold 500k because of NL. They wouldn't reach the numbers without it. Source gg does not need to sell 500k at debut but 150k will be a huge underperformance at least for me. Hybe groups have huge hype because of bts. Like i said if a starship group can do around 100k at debut with 2 izone members for a hybe group to the same is not great especially with Sakura involved. Also izone numbers back in 2018 was great and many solo stans don't even open their wallet. We'll see.

Also didn't enhypen debut cross huge numbers didn't it do like above 400k? But they had iland.

Aespa sold well because of many factors not only Next Level. Dalla Dalla was released by the successor girl group of the best selling GG of all time in the KPOP history and was even the biggest GG song of its year and that didn't make ITZY have insane sales at debut.

Well, we are talking about the debut numbers and your predictions are extremely unrealistic to me. TXT only reached the 500k mark with BLUE HOUR (their 4th comeback) and Enhypen had I-LAND and nowadays their debut it's at this level but only after 1 year of being released and growing fanbase. Having BTS makes the Hybe groups to be exposed to a large audience but doesn't necessarily signify that they will have full support. TXT, it's an amazing example. They had great sales at debut but far from the unrealistic predictions. The same way EXO being a monster seller didn't make NCT huge at the debut. Only three 4th gen girl groups releases come near or surpassed the 500k mark: SAVAGE and two Iz*one album. So expecting these numbers at the debut doesn't make any sense to me and SAKURA it's only one and we don't know how her individual fanbase is going to react to the group itself.

  • so far it seem like ive by the way their members trend in pann, theqoo, nate etc

some members even got those solo videos they been dropping trending in yt korea which is not common, it rarely ever happen

In Korea, it will definitely be IVE especially because SM's GG secret weapon it's a Japanese member unless they have someone in the lineup that can be a Korean representative I don't see them overshadowing IVE (in Korea) when they have Won Young.

    sm?u mean hybe

yep, idk if ifans understand how popular wy is

even after izone disbanded she keep trending in all those sites for everything she did from ig posts, to the cfs she got to even the hate she got for doing nothing

she is crazy popular and the reaction of her group so far is good as knetz find all ive members pretty and their teasers are appealing and nice

  • Sakura's probably in the lineup of the Source Music new girl group. I think for IVE to succeed depends much more on Starship now because the members seem to have been very accepted.

I think u r missing one point I am saying easily : If a starship gg can do close to 100k or even more a hybe gg should have no problem out doing such numbers. It's not unrealistic. It's unrealistic to think they won't. If wonyoung and yujin group crosses 150k on gaon the sakura group would pull in way more.

Also showing txt and itzy as a proof is bad. They debuted in 2019 since then we already have so many groups sell high numbers. Their numbers back in 2019 was great. In 2021 they are nothing because the sales market has grown so much. Make itzy and txt debut in 2021 they would pull in more sales too.

I'm using the 500k mark as a reference taking into consideration that only three 4th GG's albums reached that milestone at the moment. I know that they can sell much more than 150k but 500k it's unrealistic to me. I think we have a different point of view so I'm gonna stop here.
