IVE vs Source NGG: Which group will be bigger?

Hybe group. Starshit will never get away with sabotaging Izone. At least Hybe tried to reform an Izone subunit while Starshit did nothing but break up a literally perfect GG. Karma always wins.

Ifans have always underestimated Wonyoung. And, no hate to Sakura fans, because I know it isn't all of them, but I'm sure a good percentage of them are probably burning right now, especially the ones that swore up and down that Iz*One was "Sakura and friends" or that "Sakura was the real center" or "Sakura carried all the sales" who are currently receiving a huge reality check right now. I'm sure they never expected this sort of reaction toward Wonyoung and Starship's new group. But as I said, they have always underestimated Wonyoung and will continue to do so. But the results will always speak for themselves.

Doesn’t matter if Sakura was the “true center” or more popular internationally. Some of these people over estimate Sakura’s popularity to be honest lol Like smngg is not going to be selling half a million copies and then some due to Sakura alone like come on now. That’s not even really realistic. Kpoppies who weren’t delusional should have expected this type of response from knetz in regards to the group Wonyoung was going to be in.

I think the physical expectations come from both her and Chaewon and the hybe brand. Both have big fanbase in Japan. A good amount of physicals should be secured. After all the way people talk about sakura and always say she is the best if her group only ends up selling around IVE at debut it'll be sad lol especially with hybe attached to the group. IVE should be clearing around 100k looking at the pre orders. Maybe even more. Source group with hybe association doing 150k will be not good.

Idk, gugudan had Sejeong and Mina, and they still flopped and Sejeong was probably more popular than both Wonyoung and Sakura in Korea (before y’all argue with me on this, Sejeong charted number 1 on all charts, including melon, with her 2016 solo and got 750,000 unique listeners in the first 24 hours, which was more unique listeners than IOI’s very very very and Baekyun and Suzy’s collaboration and got PAKs).

Hybe hasn’t grown a girl group from scratch successfully before, but that was also like almost a decade ago and Hybe is pretty much a big 3 company now.

Starship had Sistar, who were hugely successful and WJSN who are like mid-tier? So they know how to manage a girl group decently. I would put my money on the IVE gg being bigger in Korea and Hybe GG being bigger internationally (like another user said).

I've a feeling that min heejin's gg might overshadow sourcengg internationally.

I have a feeling I'VE will do better in Korea and will be digital monsters while the Soumu group will do better Internationally and will end up being physical monsters. Although saying that the Soumu group will sell 500k out-the-gate is being a bit too unrealistic. They'll probably start more like around 200k and work their way up from there. And a lot of knetz will rally behind Wonyoung but they won't rally behind Sakura because she's Japanese and a lot of them have disliked her from the start.

I mean.....I hope you do realize that a good amount of these people aren't exactly Sakura fans but Produce48 fans that were Pro-Japanese and using Sakura as a weapon against Wonyoung who they saw as a symbol of the pro-Korean favoritism (ai. WUSPLE) during the show. These are the same people who keep on thinking that Japanese members were rigged out even though the Courts only said that Gaeun and Chowon were.

Ive will definitely do well they've two famous izone members but it all depends upon how starship manages the group. I dont see somungg doing well in korea unless they've some korean secret weapon or release a viral hit during debut era. I hope they just put sakura and chaewon in mhjngg and debut them i don't see the point of debuting a group under source when you've iland and minheejin who're definitely gonna steal the thunder.

I know. There were definitely a lot of butthurt 48 fans. But unfortunately, through my time as a wiz*One when interacting directly with the fandom, I have come across many such instances from Sakura akgaes. Majority of them were the ones who always had something to say concerning Wonyoung center position. On the other hand, most non-fans were the ones calling Iz*One "Sakura and friends" in spite of the clear evidences saying otherwise such as Iz*One's domestic fandom being the backbone of the group. But whether they were akgaes or 48 fans, the fact remains that it's always been from the international side.
