will survive the seven year curse and everything. I believe that because some ggs have gotten stronger over the last few years. Like some of them don't need gp. I finally thought that some would hold out for at least 8 - 9 years, but companies are ready for new idols.. I hope the trinity and mid tier ggs survive the seven year curse.
I Thought that The Third Gen GGs..

This is sad:( and I’m sure they don’t even count the nugu nugu
I feel like nothing will change with 4th gen but it seems like most of these groups will live a pretty decent life with all the money they made
-
I’m hoping for the best for all of them
-
I am pretty sure Dreamcatcher will survive because their concept and sound are too unique. They are not going to lose fandom easily. Theoretically, they are already over seven years old, because five of them debuted in 2014.

Red Velvet - 50/50, slightly leaning on the side of renew. Maybe Joy slightly leaning to not renew.
I thought they already renewed I-
-
My gut feeling....
Blackpink don't renew (as a group).
Some members of Twice don't renew. My pick is Jeongyeon, Mina and Chaeyoung.
Red Velvet - 50/50, slightly leaning on the side of renew. Maybe Joy slightly leaning to not renew.
Hopefully I'm wrong!
BP will end like snsd they will release an album in 2023 and YG will put them on a indefinite hiatus
I don’t know why bp wouldn’t renew If you skip the music part they are fairly treated when it comes to solo activities
Twice will renew as all they love each others and spend 99% of their time together
Didn’t Red velvet basically renew they has released a 2022 season greeting and has a jp cb soon

I think BP have atleast an album and an EP left before they disband

idk about twice. I feel like they'll lost a few members but they're so wildly loved they'll be ok

Dreamcatcher has been through a lot... I want to see them come through.

The queastion is, do the groups really want to go on after seven years? I think many members are happy to end it after about seven years and get a more normal life.

I agree

it's a vicious cycle really...I don't think this will be different for the 4th gen or 5th gen even...life as an idol is super short ... it's kinda understandable as it is mostly teeangers and young adults who spend time and money on their idols...as they grow up they loose interest and move on
older groups simply are not as atractive to young ppl because the whole idol culture heavily focuses on selling love and pure image...it's barely possible with idols who are in their 30s
it's better to focus on acting and variety shows if you wanna have a longlasting career in k-entertainment business

At the same time, members in Idol group don't really have the time to spend much more time as idol either, at least when you are a member of a group. I mean, if you debut at age 20 and seven years later you are 27 with very little private life. If you want to date and have a family it's time to get going at age 27, sure you can wait some more years. But for girls getting close to 30 I would guess they would start to feel a bit "stressed" being a member of a Idol group making it difficult to date and have relationships.

I can see Red Velvet, WJSN and Oh My Girl renewing. Not sure about the others but I hope so.

I'm like 80% sure RV already renewed

Weren't there rumours about Wendy leaving? Or was it debunked already? (I really hope so)

But the thing is, what will most of them do after being idols? Its not like all of them can successfully go solo

They could shift to variety shows or MCing ...they could also open their own business if they have enough money and ideas or good advisors
-
Dreamcatcher will be the last standing gg just like Apink
-

Sure, it's probaly a mixed feeling, many have a hard time after quiting their idol life. But..... is it not better to try to find a new type life and working career at 27 than when you are +30?
I can understand if it's a really popular group that can earn a lot of money if they go on a couple of more years, but if it's an average middle group that don't earn that kind of money, is it really worth it? It's probably only the members of the groups like Twice, BP, Red Velvet and that kind of groups that earn the big money. -

A story a while ago had most of the members of OMG already renewed their contracts, Mimi and someone else had not, as of the time of the story.
WJSN will lose more members, but they should be ok until 2023, they debuted in 2016.
RV should already be at the end of their 7 year contract.

blackpink will be fine, so will twice and red velvet

i get he has a special promotion technique blah blah but i am fucking livid at this man. do you know how many comebacks Twice has had compared to them (and they only had a two comeback headstart so it's not that substantial)? MANY. A LOT. And YG does this stupid shit where he wants to save them and preserve the hype. FOR WHAT? FOR WHEN? TIME IS FLYING! PEOPLE ARE CHANGING!
How long does he think this can last?

pretty sure yg knows this tactic isn't working. They did the same thing for 2ne1, did more harm than good. And now Blackpink, it isn't a promotional tactic. It is literally "I don't know how to manage my groups".
-
i miss them so much i miss them i just miss them

Jennie is gonna do more than well wherever she goes. She’s a household name in Korea at this point. Jisoo has a good chance of being very successful since she’s made to be an actress and Korea loves Rose’s voice. The only person not gonna have the same hype like in her group is Lisa since we all saw how her solo was treated there.
I don’t see BlackPink resigning with YG. I don’t see Rosé or Jennie staying, I think they are the members who wants to release music the most and YG isn’t that company.
-
I'm sure they will
lets apply another layer
I was happy for a sec, then I saw that spoiler
Do you want to die today ?
