there i said it, let's normalize it in kpop, some fans act like if you don't like a song from your faves you're less somehow, but we all have preferences in music, a certain feel or genre we like more, others we find meh and others we absolutely can't stand it's normal, i also sometimes on twitter see some guilt tripping going on, i'm a whole PTD anti yes, i like Dyna and Butter is okay, noone of these hold a candle against their previously released korean songs, and it's okay next year they can release something i love a lot like wings or LY: Tear, it's not the end of the world, but some fans act like they would rather eat sand than admit they didn't vibe with a song their faves released and i don't get it, unless you start saying derogatory things about them or doubting their artistry because of one thing they did you didn't like, you're not any less of a real fan.
not liking a song your faves released don't make you any less of a fan

yeah some ppl just love to guilt trip

on insta? u got dragged in the comment section or like a group chat?
-
I do comment when I don't like a song from my favs , but I won't be vocal about it to the people who do like it, as you said people have tastes and its better to respect them and not ruin their fun
I mean, unless a group literally keep the same sound forever in all of their albums, you're bound to have songs that you don't like. Its nature lol
-
I agree, I will hate on d4 remix and on ft sia all my life but that doesn't mean I am any less of a blinks nor army.

Also if you happen to do this in say idk a guild or something it's a great way to make akorns.

It doesn't even have to be shit work, just stuff you don't vibe with. And yes, I agree with the OP that it should be fine and normalized to be able to give your honest opinion. I mean, you don't have to make it a point to crap all over it cuz that's a bummer to your fellow stans who do enjoy something, but you shouldn't have to lie. Fandoms aren't cults. We shouldn't be trying to police everyone's thoughts and actions.
-
Your mind, quark
-
Absolutely agree.
I'll go even one step further, there is no song that is more 'acceptable' to dislike. It's okay if an ARMY dislikes PTD or Make it Right, it's also okay if an ARMY dislikes Spring Day or Black Swan. As long as they are respectful about it, I don't really see the point in ( seriously ) shaming them for their personal tastes.
Down with the herd mentality
I'm only talking about BTS because they have like a million songs and it's completely unrealistic to expect someone to love each ones of them, but it's also true for other groups btw.
-
im waiting to see if certain users post here agreeing

sure. it’s just when those fans continues to shit on the song even after they say they don’t like it
not to mention the constant reminders “oh i hate that song blah blah!!” okay we get it
edit: which i’ve seen plenty of times here before

Keep Black Swan outta this

Im all for stating your opinions and allowing people to like what they like and not like what they don't. My concern about this, especially during the PTD comeback, was that some who hated the song force their opinion on others like everyone should dislike it too. People have different tastes, shouldn't be big of a deal.

This should be common sense but some people act like being in a fandom is like joining a religion or a cult where you can no longer question, disagree, oppose or criticise.
Personally this was never a problem for me, I have always been very open about disliking certain songs or a whole album from my faves. Both the SJ and NCT fans I hang out with online are very open about it and accepting. In fact this is the norme with NCT fans as far as I could see, at least in here. The guild was basically built on debates over which songs different posters dislike
-
i thought this a common sense but i learned during ptd era that in fact, it wasn't

Super Junior said they released around 750 songs total, so even if I hated 200 of their songs it wouldn't be a big deal
I DON'T hate 200 of their songs lol
