Honestly I don't think so, I think they just chose BTS for some diversity points since they've been getting major flack over the years and what better way to show your inclusive then to give a nom to an Asian boygroup. Don't get me wrong noms are great but its still not a win. Backstreetboys and One direction are some of the most recent boygroups American has had and neither of them won any grammys so apart from being POC BTS have the boygroup thing against them.

Anyway, racist or not, I do think the Grammy will go to Ariana and Lady Gaga ( people are saying Taylor, but I don't think so. She is getting AOTY ). But then, I didn't even think that BTS would be nominated at all, so I was wrong before, and I can be wrong again.

Big Hit campaigned pretty hard (which is a big part of being nominated for a Grammy), so I knew they would be nominated.
Winning is a whole different story though. Would be cool for kpop as a whole if they won, I just don’t think it’ll happen.

Whatever they did, I'm sure they weren't the only ones to do so, so it was still very uncertain in my opinion. Sometimes I really think that the Grammys aren't worth it, but the boys really seem to want one, so...
Yeah, better keep our hopes low for the win. I'd rather be pleasantly surprised than disappointed.

Grammys aren't necessarily racist. They're just weird and extremely inconsistent.
I'm suspecting that they only nominated BTS because BTS made an all-English song. I hope other groups around the world don't feel like they absolutely have to do this to get a Grammy nomination.

I really don’t think they will win. But as an ARMY, I pray that they will because then, we can move on to other things. The Grammys has been like an itch that has been there for a long time. We try to ignore it (because of the reality that BTS might never get one) but it’s always there in the background and until BTS secures one win, I don’t think we can completely get over the need to scratch.

So the only reason they got a nomination was because of Big hit campaigning hard? Well, it will make it easy for other Kpop groups to get a nomination in the future then, just have to release an english song and campaign hard :)

Unfortunately Grammys are mostly internal politics. It has very little to do with quality or popularity, which sucks.
