I read the same comment when I was doing the female idols vs colorism/racism thread. Jennie is tan and doesn't blend in with other idols. South east asians have a wide range of beauty standards and have produced many many paegent winners so jokes on them. Knets and their nonsensical bitching and looking down on the SEA is dated asf.

It’s the general akp narrative. To hate “knetz” for looking down on SEA while at the same time themself pretty much everyday indicate that 1) SEA is somehow lower status 2) Dont understand how extremly diverse “SEA” is (between countries, cultures within countries etc) bc they don’t really care they just want stuff to throw in their fan wars or general hate

Maybe this is just subjective perception but....
Most countries in the world consider themselves to be better looking than others. Maybe bc if u grow up in a country ur preference will follow that standard. Or it’s just pride of ur country.
Which is logical
In Europe (where I live now) I’d notice eg French and Italian and Swedish people often claim their women are better looking than others.
Whos to judge? Does that means it’s racist? I don’t think so.
In Sweden the standard is to be tall blond and blue eyed - sort of specific no? But that’s how Swedish people generally look. It’s not necessarily racist
On the darker side it also common to use certain countries as a reference of ugliness

That would be a compliment, I don't know why some Koreans feel so superior to others and often feel the need to downgrade sea visuals. That being said I don't care what she looks like or whom she has more resemblance with, she is gorgeous, and that wouldn't take away anything from her beauty.

but there's nothing wrong with it; i even think that her type of asian beauty is the most popular specially in the west (us, europe etc)
but korean do think that koreanish features are prettier, they have their korean standards; which is kinda fine you know; to prefer your features; like they also think that many beautiful white girls just look too old or too strong or whatever; it's just their standard.
what is wrong tho is too think that outside of their subjectivity, sea or western looking people are racially inferior because of those differences;
it's just their taste and there is a whole world from sea to the west that begs to differ
