Changed the title of the thread from “Will korean public accept a group with korean members being a majority?” to “Will korean public accept a group with korean members being a minority?”. -

They'd better accept it since it's the public that made it this way.
Anyway, in the case of (G)I-DLE I don't really see a problem. Usually foreign members in groups have a very limited role. They usually don't contribute much in terms of vocals, that's why you can't have too many of them in a group. But (G)I-DLE is not like this. Minnie has been main vocals since day one; Yuqi is lead vocals and one of the most fluent foreign idol in Korean. There should be no problem really.
-
I think they will. Yuqi and Minnie have already gotten roles in other Korean productions (variety show and comedy).
The bigger question for Gidle is how much they will be hurt by SJ's departure. Was she a big stan attractor in Korea and internationally? How will her loss impact their domestic charting and foreign (ie Chinese) sales?
-
That's the most intriguing question. I was a few minutes ago wondering what the fandom would think if (G)I-DLE's next mini album undersells compared to 'I burn'.
Soojin was definitely a stan attractor internationally. There wouldn't be such an uproar otherwise. Most i-fans would have defended any member the same, but Soojin really had that extra factor it seems to me.
I can't really say about Korea but I remember that she had been called the "idol of idols" in the first video Doyouram made about her. She was Somi's favorite, Ryu Sera's favorite, and more. It's hard to tell now because k-fans seem to turn the page so quickly. Some fans on u-cube are already editing her out of older (G)I-DLE photos. They don't even say her name anymore as though she turned into Voldemort. Cube are apparently deleting her solo pics on the group's SNS. Pure madness.
Anyway we'll see if the Korean fandom will put its money where its mouth is and make (G)I-DLE's next comeback a resounding success. Or maybe they'll realize "weird, it's not as good as before " like a bunch of fools. It will be interesting for sure!

idk. shuhua seems to be very outspoken (i personally like that) but eventually she might say something that knetz find disrespectful, and they might start a hate bandwagon on her, especially since she's a foreigner. it has happened before, even with korean idols. whenever a female idol shows traits of being feminist or free spirited. and i feel like another scandal could be the final straw for knetz.

I feel like Minnie is fairly well liked (Thai idols seem to be generally well liked in general... of course that's because they don't carry the baggage that comes with China/Japan.)
Yuqi is also generally well received since she has a healthy love and appreciation of Korean culture and entertainment. The fact that she's Chinese will always be an issue though. I do agree that Shuhua has a high chance of becoming a target by knetz due to the fact that she's not willing to take shit. I can definitely see antis coming after her.
Honestly the whole group has plenty of fodder for antis and I really hope Cube does something to protect the members from malicious comments.

Have Koreans noticed that yet?
-
Yeah, well if knetz want to go after another member, so be it. That'll show the hypocrisy of these OT5 supporters. That'll show how flimsy is their support and how they can drop their faves overnight because of whatever reason and erase them from their memory in no time.
I-fans are annoying, even downright stupid and obnoxious sometimes, but at least they show a greater sense of loyalty towards those who provide them joy and happiness. I can at least salute that.

Rosie has Korean blood though they might not see her as a native Korean but she isn't really seen as a foreigner either. it's hard to explain

f(x) debuted with only two Korean members.

Oh yeah that's probably why, but Krystal is Korean ethnically even if she wasn't born in Korea, I personally wouldn't count foreign-born Koreans as non-Korean
