The thing about the vocals is that compared to original, there is literally zero backtrack so everything you hear is all coming from their mics
I haven't watch everything but I'm sure there should be some good ones.
If you want to compare to something familiar, this is how Chaeyeon's group (WM entertainment) sound for their audition with zero backtrack (except for the la di la da la da part), they sound like 10x better

At least they fairly did well dancing imo

They don't sound horrible here, not like the performance i've watched from Girls Planet. I'll try some others performance i've probably missed the one with good vocals

Yeah they sound good there, so I think there should be a fair mix of good and bad ones like Chaeyeon's WM performance was good, but there are some other not as good ones as well.
Regarding the edit, I haven't watched the show but judging from the comment it seem like the full performances aren't shown and some parts are edited like bad part are shown to make them look bad
the problem is that you forget it's mic-on here even for those who would be groups dancers/rappers
when in music tv shows you get lip syncing, backtrack, or special version of vocals pre-recorded which soung like they are live but not, well and of course some groups go live but not so many
and citron-icy
The performance wasn’t great but wasn’t completely terrible either. The dislikes are because international fans hate one particular Chinese girl in that group.

I still thinking they're bad. And it's not because of singing live, yes i'm agree for say we're used now to hear idols not sings in live, but I can very easily find groups that sing live do 10x better. I don't expect to hear amazing vocals but there is still a minimum.

This performance is probably one of the best performance. It's my favorite.
