Psycho was still a 2019 release. That's ancient now.
Plus Irene Gate has happened since then. They are not what they use to be.
Exactly they always downplay RV it's ridiculous they did this mess last year before Psycho released saying RV was flopping and RV wasn't top group then Psycho came and outsold and out charted most GGs and haters went silent

I think that's more accurate but I don't really follow charts and stuff so idk. RV hasn't even had a comeback yet, I think it's too soon to say they'll "fall off" the top 5. Psycho and Irene/Seulgi's sub-unit existed and did really well.

SBS has screwed them over really good: instead of having a great comeback and promotion with an epic song, they were pushed into hiatus for over a year now, and who knows how long it'll take before their comeback.
It's already a miracle that Wendy's still alive, without lifelong lasting injuries.
Still, even despite SBS' sabotage, their song Psycho is still - without promotion - the idol song that charted highest and performed best in 2020, and Seulgi & Irene had the highest album sales of female solo's and sub-units.
RV's sub-unit even surpassed (G)I-dle, Mamamoo and ITZY with their album sales (232k).
If they can do that with a sub-unit, who knows how their album sales might do when they comeback as a full group.
So yes, even in their absence, they still had 1 of the best charting songs of last year, a sub-unit that had the highest album sales among girl idols (non-groups) and they're still acknowledged as the #3 girl group by common Koreans.
As for how 2021 will go, we'll see when they come back.

They only become popular in 2020 so their album sales may reflect on their next comeback. Currently their best selling album is 52k.

Wouldn't go that far hun, aespa may be new and only debuted two months ago, BUT they have already gotten wins and awards and are doing way better than almost all 4th gen groups/ rookies and wayyyy more relevant than some 3rd gen
