I dont know who 요한 is
Considering the sample size, everyone below 6-7% is pretty much equal.

U sure India is accurate? I am pretty sure Blackpink would be in there. They are pretty popular around there.
Yohan (요한) was a South Korean singer under KJ Music Entertainment. He was a member of the boy group TST and a former member of the boy group NOM.
On June 17, 2020, it was reported by SPOTV News that he had passed away on the 16th. The cause of death was not revealed at the family's request.
From the US report that's in English:
Quote2021 Survey on Overseas Hallyu Status was conducted from September 24th 2020 to November 4th 2020 online. A total of 8,500 respondents between the ages of 15 and 59 who had prior experience of using Korean cultural contents took part in the survey. The survey was conducted in a total of 18 countries and the minimum and maximum sample size per country was 400 and 500 respectively.

Look at 'Psy' figuring in pretty much every list.
People who don't know Kpop, or even locate Korea on a map, still would know him - Oppa Gangnam Style.
No promotions, no nothing - all it took was one global viral hit.
It is interesting to see 'IU', who does not have a viral song. It could be the Kdrama impact, but even if folks are introduced to her via Kdrama, that they then recognized her in the Kpop surveys, means something.
Depends on the survey questions, if it is just multiple choice name recognition, then Kdrama would be a major reason.
That and also their ability to promote in China (EXO through their Chinese members, 2nd Gen groups could promote there before the ban).
Visit the website ( Link is above) , they might have an email address there, they will be able to answer your question properly.😀
the whole website is in Korean
Oh yes. Really surprised.
True dat
BTS, BLACKPINK, EXO and Stray Kids legends
Frankly I am surprised that there are enough people in India to take a Kpop poll at all.
BTS and Psy are probably the only reasonable exceptions.
Rest are insignificant statistical errors.
This survey should be conducted only in countries where Kpop sales/consumption is at least 1% of the market. Otherwise it is pointless.
I think they took the pole in a part of India that doesn't represent the whole. I hope they include all parts of India such as the north, south etc.

BTS and Blackpink kinda have a significant amount of fans here but it's nothing compared to the whole population. The survey says the respondents were people who had significant knowledge about hallyu and korean culture, but if I'm being completely honest I don't think even 0.01% of population can name more than 10 kpop artists. The survey seems way inaccurate and needed to include many more factors before making a final report.

I have not seen the data, survey methods etc.
But realistically only the urban affluent youth population would have any idea of Kpop, that would be about 2% of Indian population. Though that might still be 30 million people, it is futile when the population is 1 billion plus.
Anyway, Kpoppies can get their kicks with such data. It has no tangible value beyond that.
I wish there is some data for each country on what % of their music market is kpop.
And Psy, actually I would put Psy even ahead of BTS - for even people who have no idea of Korea or Kpop, would have heard Gangnam Style... it is still clocking million views on YT,, after what 9 years now?
bp are carried by sea countries not surprised thu

Well no poll can entirely be representative. But with India, I think the K-content has a higher penetration in the NE regions, and then some in cosmopolitan cities.
China and India's polls seem quite shocking.
