• It seems they started their career with an edgy, hardcore rap concept. They had a “fuck the mainstream” message.

Then they shifted to self-introspection (personal life struggle rather than social struggle) and because that made them popular they stuck with it until they became really big worldwide.

Post-Billboard era they tried doing that artistic shit, ie. thing they did with the ballerinas. But obviously they learned from Western music producers they have to change their style to fit American music tastes, in their capacity to do them. They wouldn’t be able to compete with a rap heavy crowd so they did the sappy, high pitch “my life is rainbows” > IDOL > Dynamite > Butter > Permission to Dance. With their B sides as a recapping of their previous song styles.

Whoever the “real” BTS were they are most likely found somewhere in the early years.

  • I don't think they are fake, actually i would say they are brave. Brave enough to change and let themselves grow artistically and just grow within their fandom.

They know what fans want and more importantly, they know what they want so i think they combined these two things and here they are. Just being the top1 ww and releasing music they like.

Overall this is called growth, evolution, phases and just human things.

Or, as is more common. People learn to change to different masks. The original face is just kept well hidden

Changing is natural of human being. You can't expect someone to be like their 18 yo forever. You can't expect someone to suffer from a heart break forever, you can expect someone to just be like they were 7 years ago forever.

To me BTS evolved to better human beings and they are discovering new things every day and more importantly, they are discovering more about themselves. They talked about it themselves (if I'm not mistaken) so i don't believe they are being fake, they are just changing and giving chances to new things.

  • OF COURSE. just like everyone else! The more bigger you get the less you start caring about your art. Don't tell me permission to dance is a BTS song. It's not. What happened to Boy in Luv....what happened to no more dream. Their love yourself years were the best in my opinion. And I really don't see their newer music at the same level of songs like Fake Love or Run. It's actually sad because for a while I thought they were one of the only Kpop groups to REALLY care about the whole album process. Not one song on any of the love yourself albums is a filler song. Idk that's Just MY OPINION.

  • Yessss

    I've been waiting for this

FAKEU LOVE to 1B plz :omgr::omgr:

Okay, cool. There's a whole Be album released just last year.

    Hello Dis-ease and Ugh.

  • Okay, cool. There's a whole Be album released just last year.

    Hello Dis-ease and Ugh.

Personally I think those two songs were not up to par with any other song they released. Ugh is nice but it's the same old screw you haters type of song and dis-ease is cool but I did not enjoy any other song off the be album. It's not just about lyrics it's also about the sound and I found the be album a bit... Boring.

  • Where would we be if we keep doing the same stuff. I don’t think it’s fake, unless their B-sides are like their recent title tracks. But it doesn’t seem so. They are just choosing more public friendly (more hit guarantee) title tracks instead of what they usually released as titles.

They want a Grammy and for that you have to play according the rules of the US industry, and they don’t like foreign language Songs and deep meaningful lyrics, especially not in a foreign language..

  • Whoever the “real” BTS were they are most likely found somewhere in the early years.

"Real" or early BTS were super angry and stressed out about making their names known in the industry, they knew they weren't being taken seriously and were more often than not being mocked and made fun of.

Their emotional state is not as is was back then.

    Is he.....you know?

    투모로우바이투게더 방탄
    레드벨벳엑소샤이니에이티즈

  • I wonder why evolution of musical style is perceived as "fake", they are literally just making music that they want to make. Naturally, their taste in music and desires for their musical style changes over time.

sorry but have you read ugh’s lyrics or....??

  • It seems they started their career with an edgy, hardcore rap concept. They had a “fuck the mainstream” message.

Because they were young and were at the rebellious stage :whatr: That period their songs reflected whatever struggles they were facing at that point: the school system, school life etc. They really didn’t have a fuck the mainstream message.

Then they shifted to self-introspection (personal life struggle rather than social struggle) and because that made them popular they stuck with it until they became really big worldwide.

Well obviously if you get antis bullying you on social media, your peers looking down on you, kmedia branding you with plagiarism and getting shut out off award shows, who can mentally keep stable under these conditions.

I’m happy they used music as a way to let go off some of the depression and anger they faced back then as Suga said in their Indian interview

Black swan was one of the best songs released in 2020. No kpop act has ever released such a song and the orchestra version was chef’s kiss. Can’t believe you wanted to drag black swan, makes your whole point invalid

BTS released 3english songs: boohoo they have sold themselves for western validation and success. When was English ever a recipe for success in their books

Need to remind peeps here that BTS ere selling out stadiums in the US before they ever got their first billboard number 1 :yesr: They were already successful in the western market and no one can downplay that. True organic artiste

  • obviously bts is going to change their music styles. if they stuck with just one style then it’s bound to get boring. plus DUH they are gonna make songs that appeal to the western market cause they are getting bigger in that area.

and as you can see it’s been VERY successful so they’re doing fine.

Seriously, compare the first and last albums by the Beatles and they sound completely different. Does that mean the Beatles were fake too?

  • yeah. Maybe I'm reading it the wrong way but I'm kind of tired of diss track type of songs anyway.

hmmmmmm im not sure if i can trust that. cause ugh! isn't even that type of song. it's about unnecessary anger here go re read the lyrics again for better understanding :)
