Yes. Girl crush has been more popular nowadays. However, it is a concept that is very risky esp in SK. Chances of a grp succeeding there is much higher with a cuter/brighter concept. Some companies shld stop jumping on the hype train and try to take SK instead.

The newer gen grps are having their own version of girl crush tho, I think some of them are closer to teen crush than gc.

Its the same when Blackpink started out. Even now they arent really straight up gc and they are much less edgy than 2NE1 was. They even have cuter brighter songs like AIIYL Ice cream LSG.

So whatever the inspiration is, nobody is ever straight up copying
