This is done by a Twitter account tho if I am not wrong. They do predictions for many Korean awards. Anyways if we go by their prediction aespa,svt and Rosé were very close and the judge score could just make anyone the winner but at the end judges chose g-dragon. It's their award and they can give it to whoever they wish. Not the first or last time

It’s so unusual! Usually awards that do this don’t publicly show their criteria so it’s hard to gage what’s genuine and what’s corrupt but this was publicized by them

it's MAMA. they don't make sense sometimes. they prob didn't give the main daesang to aespa since gd attended and they prob value seniority. and aespa already got other awards. gd got most of the judges score, that's why he got the award. judges score is 40%

i think the award would have gone to aespa if gd hadn't attended

I always saw gd as a likely winner of artist of the year not only bc of the digital success but bc of the impact of his releases in korea (home sweet home was number one for god knows how many days) and the longevity of his popularity which was bound to get recognition from the subjective criteria aka the judge panel. Idk I don't think they would have had a mega veteran like gd attend and perform without giving him a daesang.

That is the only daesang they can give him that is the least most questionable. He doesn't have a hit song, hit album, so that's the only one they can give him

yeah, every year there are complaints about MAMA. but it’s MAMA, it’s always been like that

By GD attending and being a known senior. He even performed, they were never going to not give him something big, and Artist of the Year was by far the most plausible.

Sorry but aespa didn’t deserve it anyway.

His album sold 1m copies on circle chart and has the biggest album by music act on china this year.

If anything those prediction for global is wrong.

Also, Home Sweet Home is literally charting higher than aespa's latest release Rich Man right now so ....... I think he kinda deserve it since he got a huge SK hit this year

Song of the Year and Album of the Year is a more straightforward award. APT is the biggest song after Gangnam Style and SKZ sold way way more compared to his album. That's why I said the least questionable is ArOTY

You guys need to stop taking these predictions so seriously as If the person isn't just a K-pop fan as much as everyone else.

It's just supposed to gather some data to give us a look on what might happen, they don't write the rules.

The funniest thing about this is that GD will also win daesang at MMA and GDA, particularly ArOTY. Aespa had a lukewarm year and their stats are hardcarried by Whiplash, idk why y'all are crying foul. Seriously do y'all believe aespa deserves ArOTY for Dirty Work and Rich Man?

If we hypothetically say the judges gave all top 4 less than 30% or less and GD the full 40% then yes he would win but what are the chances of that happening considering thetg hits and high scores the other 4 scored?

Lets say there are 20 judge in total and 15 judge picked GD and 5 judge gave vote to other artist so GD will get 30% and other artist 10%.

11 years ago the greatest snub of all MAMA history occurred when EXO took an unprecedented 2 Grand Prizes and someone was given a Lifetime Achievement Award instead

at Hong Kong, out of all places

It made KPop's Greatest Anachronism ineligible for Grand Prize for the rest of her life, something she has never forgotten.

Someone had attended in 2014 and did 4 stages but was not given a Grand Prize.

They DID invite someone back in 2014 and did not give her a Grand Prize

She has never showed up in MAMA , ever again

And it is not like that GD is influential now. Snubbing him would not have done too much damage
