The 2M people going to their tour are also a hallucination. SKZ fandom is small! Just irl bots at concerts!

and it is needed 3xx tracks for them to become third most streamed K-pop act of all time?
why don't just show us their global spotify debut and monthly listeners to prove you are the biggest fandom in kpop.
Even Twice have more monthly listeners that stray kids......

Number of tracks doesn't mean much If there isn't who to stream. There's a lot of successful K-pop acts with similar amount of songs as Stray Kids, but don't get daily half of their streams.
And why would I use such a dubious metric such as "global debuts" (that aren't even bad, to begin with, their last comeback title track did nearly 4M), or worse than that, "Monthly Listeners" that can be boosted by Playlisting and Autoplay Mode, when Stray Kids in on path to have over 2 million attendance on their global stadium tour? This is more relevant to showcase their fandom power than streams.

Monthly listener is a flaw metric. One trending song is everything it need to boost the number.
-
I think they are big you can see that on their album debut streams on spotify and other streaming services and i think they only third kpop group if i am not wrong who can chart all album singles in spotify in first day. also their digital song sales for billboard hot 100 is high compared to other groups, the only problem is they don't have much causal support compared to blackpink or bts.
-
The more I hear about them, the more I'm convinced they aren't real at all

You can't compare and say Stray Kids needs a lot more songs to achieve that
Because most groups would actually release more music in 2 years than BP did in their entire life

Hahahahahaha............ I needed a good laugh

very difficult to say because there are too many metrics to determine.
Only if (almost) all metrics point towards one group, can one confidently place them higher in popularity than the other.
I do think that globally, BP have more casual listeners and are more well-known than Stray Kids amongst non-Kpop fans.
I also think Stray Kids might be very close or above BP in devoted fans that buy all their albums, concert tickets etc.
So, what is more important to measure popularity in this case?
Am I even right with the second thing? Very hard to measure as BP hasn't released an album in years.
If I had to give an answer, I'd say BP is still bigger, but Stray Kids is catching up in size of fandom. They're still behind in being recognized globally and casual consumption of their work.

There are 4 biggest fandom in K-pop.
1. Army
2. Blink
3. Stays
4. Once
I recently found out that Army is now teaming up with once, while blink is teaminig up with stays to attack each other.
It is funny.
"found out"= a few dumb Twitter posts mean nothing.
These type of people fanwar every day with other fandoms.
-
I don't think any Stays are going to claim they're even close to the numbers BP and BTS are doing. They're firmly third and they're happy with that.
One thing I will say is that in the past two years the fandom became drastically toxic. Suddenly people are claiming all the ships are real, solo fans start complaining as soon as a member gets more screen time or an ambassadorship, international Vs Koreans discourse emerged. If that isn't a clear cut sign the fandom is expanding then I don't know what is.
-
what is a fandom?
how does one measure the size of said fandom
data metrics criteria weighting blah blah blah

Fandom size is usually measured by album sales and total tour audience. I think Stray Kids' fandom is larger in these areas, but BP's casual listener base is so much larger that it still gives the impression they're more popular

album sales can be inflated due to mass buying but I get your point
tour size overall or per city or per stop or per tour - obviously a group can have more stops on their tour at different cities compared to say a group that does less...(this is more generic and not specific to SKZ or BP per se)
has BP's album sales or touring ever eclipsed SKZ previously?
I guess that's the fundamental issue since the OP seems to implying that at one point BP's fandom > SKZ fandom and now it's the opposite

yes

Back when I was still on the bad site, I never saw all that much fanwar between STAY and ARMY, partly because STAY usually claim "best 4th gen group to..." I guess instead of "we're the best overall)".
Also Bang Chan has always been very positive about BTS.

Sad to hear this.
Back then, it was very OT9 then OT8 as far as I could tell. (not in the fandom so don't know everything, though I checked out news of them sometimes).
Never even saw a solo stan in Stray Kids fandom as far as I remember.
Solo stans are so annoying.
My theory is that these are people that love playing victim. Since nobody cares about their tantrums about how unfair the world is to gthem, they project that victimhood on their favorite idols, because fellow stans then suddenly do care and they make weird narratives to be the "sad one."
What makes it even dumber is that all solo stans of all groups always say the same stuff:
-My fave is the most mistreated
-My fave gets the least attention/worst clothes/least lines in songs/whatever from the company.
-OT8 (or OT4, OT5 etc depending on the group) fans only pay attention to other XYZ member(s) because they're all secretly solo stans of that member!
So for a group with 8 members, all solo stans think THEIR fave is the most mistreated, so all eight are somehow the most mistreated at the same time.

How do even measure fandom size? Album sales? Touring? Engagement on social media?
Should be monthly listening numbers and social media interaction as both touring and album sales in Kpop isnt a good metric, Kpop groups will have people from other fandom attending their concerts just for the fact its kpop and album sales are inflated by rich fans and multiple copies

I’m turning 30 this year, and I think we spend a lot of time telling young people that they’re supposed to view things they enjoyed as children/young adults as inherently childish, which should be viewed negatively when you grow older. It’s okay to not “outgrow” hobbies just as much as it’s okay if you do. You will change and grow and learn new things you like and don’t like as you become older, but that doesn’t mean you have to throw away the old parts of you.
-
Only in a K-pop forum you will read a metric that can be boosted by:
Playlisting
Autoplay
Collaborations
Soundtracks
It's a more relevant metric to determinate fandom size than the ones people actually pay a good money for.
Katseye must be ready to sell out stadiums then with their huge fandom from 24M monthly listeners.

Where's the surprise? Boy groups always had a bigger fandom.
But no one has a bigger fandom than the Thanos (Lim Young Woong) and Wanda (IU) of Kpop!🤣

It depends on which part of the world one is in.

Yeah IMO SSKZ fandom is indeed bigger.
But this is not surprising BP have a bigger fandom than most other GG’s but they could never compete BTS for example. SKZ while not at the BTS level currently but have the biggest fandom a BG can have apart from them.
So this was always inevitable and nothing surprising for me personally.

both groups can fill up stadiums around the world so both groups have sizeable fandoms willing to go out of their way to see them live. that's pretty good measure of popularity.
bp is more well-known individually and as a group with the gp, but I think a lot of kpop fans underestimate the mainstream popularity of skz at the moment. when I went to their concert a couple weeks ago I saw people of all ages, genders, etc. probably the most varied audience I've ever seen at a kpop show. I was very surprised bc usually bgs attract 90% female fans of a younger generation. but I saw tons of men, teenage boys, etc who were having a blast and singing along.
I saw them too at lolla paris 2 years ago and the audience at the time was mostly younger women and teenagers. so there's definitely been a boost in overall popularity with skz.

Don't forget Fifty Fifty bigger fandom than Blackpink!
It's lacking so much common sense and logic it's dumbfounding.
It's common knowledge all it takes to be a monthly listener is 1 song 1 time by an artist that month. It can be randomly from a playlist, so you might not even know who the artist is.. I certainly don't know every single artist well that I have listened to one song from lmao. But yeah paying hundreds of dollars, travelling and going out of your way to plan for a concert is definitely more casual

I think it’s dozens of the region. I don’t think they have a bigger fanbase in Korea, China and SEA than BP, in the US probably, Europe they’re samey and LATAM Blackpink has a huge fanbase in Brazil

They’re more dedicated tho

I’m confused because we talk about BP and they excel in every metric so €/&:&:
until their recent WT stays were using Spotify as a metric for being 4th gen leader
