I don't think BGs in general have better stage presence than GGs.

Maybe they overall struggle less with live vocals and tend to have more energetic choreos (so I guess you could say they put in more effort if you want), but most of them still do not have much charisma.

Katseye's stage presence is not just above GGs but above most kpop groups in general.

All the groups you mentioned are the ones who consistently go viral for their performances. Be it live vocals, ferocious energy, stage presence, killer rap, etc.

It's simple, people gravitate to great performances and Katseye has been able to do that with Gnarly. I feel it's a common thing and it's happened quite a lot this year. Rescene went viral with a love attack performance and the song has not reached a new peak. Nmixx went viral performing high horse and know about me and it seems discourse around the group has changed. Le Sserafim went viral with their recent comeback and people seemed to like their performance for the song "Come Over".

Now it's Katseye turn going viral with their performance, and the same will happen with other groups this year.

That's the magic of performing on stage because it gives an artist a chance to sell a song/concept by performing. Katseye was able to do that with their performance and other groups will have their moments

I just watched the performance, and there was n‍othing special about it. Note that "L‍ove Attack" was actually released in August 2024. However, that performance was f‍rom April this year, so my guess is that Rescene only went b‍ack and performed on Sh‍ow Champion because the song started rising in the charts. The song did not rise because of this performance.

LSF is very good on stage. I even could say they are better.

Do Katseye even have enough stage experience that isn't the uber controlled music show performance, to really draw a reasonable comparison?

Have they done a grueling world tour with barely 72 hours between each performance, as well as jet lag and acclimation to deal with? Equipment issues that plague ALL concerts? Weather issues that you get from outdoor concerts and performances?

Do they even have a lot of good songs that people would be happy to pay to see (Touch is ok), or just steaming shit like Gnarly?

If you wanted your sloppy jaloppy stale thread concept to have legs, you COULD have used XG, a far better example of strong performance group.

I disagree with this. If you check gnarly bop/flop 1.0 thread and then 2.0 you'll see that people who changed their minds are fans from various fandoms and they are most certainly not company stans. The girls with their charisma and stage presences "convinced" people the songs is not awful, in fact, it's the opposite. Don't downplay their talent. Before gnarly i didn't even know their names, now i know 5, soon I'll learn 6th.

I disagree with le sserafim, they have great stage presence, i like to watch their performances. I like their music too, out of whole discography i only don't like 2 songs. Their main issue is live vocals and they need to work on that. Which is also the issue for most of kpop group nowadays. But for some reason fans aren't bothered by that so why would they change it.

To me le sserafim and itzy have the best stage presence hands down.

The song become viral-ish because at first everyone hated it (look at likes/dislikes ratio) and now a lot of people changed their minds, me included. In initial thread said it is one of the worst songs I've ever heard. ISaidISaid even said that this is not a song and us both changed votes from flop to bop. Do we look like company stans? Or noise stans?

I'm lazy to check initial thread but last time i checked it it was 89/11 for flop. Lazy to check who switched votes. But it doesn't even matter. Your premise was that they are token stanned by company stans which obviously isn't the case.
