I think it's pretty much inevitable that Ahyeon ends up becoming the next big IT girl

I know it is an appreciation thread, but statistically there is 0 sign of any Babymonster member becoming an IT girl in 5th gen. And I think from the current groups like Illit, Babymonster and Kiss Of Life there won’t be any it girl.

Here is most searched female 5th gen idols on naver(biggest searching platform in Korea) among teenagers. If you go with older age range then it won’t show cuz mostly teenagers will show interest in new acts in their rookie years, so this is a better indicator who is popular among teenagers.

As you can see highest one is Natty and there is no Babymonster member. Even Natty is on 11th place, which means it is really bad for 5th gen female idols.

Now let’s compare to boys from 5th gen

As you can see 5th gen bg members are much higher compared to 5th gen girls.

Now let’s compare digital points of Babymonster compared to their peers

As you can see Babymonster are in the last row and they debuted around the same time as Riize.

So statistically speaking there is much higher chance of 5th gen male idol becoming an IT boy(Wonbin specifically) than 5th gen female idol becoming IT girl from those ggs that debuted so far

I know you love ahyeon but it’s time to face reality, she doesn't particular exude confidence, when was the last time an IT girl was introverted? And don’t you also have to be the visual of the group?

With BP it was less is more strategy which clearly worked well but with BM they have so much releases/content It’s hard to keep up tbh! Nothing bad just a curious thought

They distribute albums of Hybe groups and other entertainment companies, they have pretty big share in TBL, their biggest act BP had 330m$+ world tour….

I think they have enough money and they are promoting Babymonster only. Not like treasure gets tons of promo and investment

For next it girl to prevail previous one should slow down. As we have seen Wonyoung is literally 20 or 21. Karina is getting more popular day by day, so these ladies will rule Korea for some years. And yes Jennie slowed down so Karina and Wonyoung became it girls there…

Also Babymonster is not the group with best GP support as you have seen from the stats. Ive and Aespa are like 10 times bigger than Babymonster in Korea, so Babymonster themselves should catch up in that regard, then we can have that it girl conversation. And even njs most popular group in Korea has some individual power there as we have seen from Hanni. So far I have seen absolutely 0 sign from Babymonster to have some impact individually. And even Natty has much more chance than them to become an it girl even tho she is Thai

Yes they can have a hit, but YG should try harder to promote them in Korea. Look what happened with drip as they performed in award shows and some other places…

Yg should let them to do challenges with other artists, he should send them to more variety shows that people watch, let them do some free performances in big public spaces and etc etc

Irene is as introverted as they come. I don't think Ahyeon will be an "it girl," but that won't be the reason why.

Well Wonyoung debuted when she was 14 so she became it girl around that age.

I know but I still don't want a minor being an IT girl. I never did and I never will, even though i know kpop wont slow down just for me, lol.

why not, Korean It girls change every year now.

That's been kpop since the beginning, going back to Lee Hyori, Yoona, Sully, Krystal, Suzy, Tzuyu, Wonyoung, Wonhee, etc. So in other words kpop is icky
