Hidden Gems #817: Shining Bright by CSR

Fun fact: CSR stands for 첫사랑, or cheotsarang, which means "first love".

Shining Brigitte never fails to make me smile.

I remember seeing CSR mentioned fairly often like a year or two ago, but then it just stopped. I also remember that this was my favorite CSR song when I checked them out because of your last CSR thread.

This song is chock-full of the good stuff. It's like a slice of chocolate cake with ice cream, caramel sauce, sprinkles, and a cherry on top. There's nothing quite like lots of energy and catchy lyrics to get the blood flowing.

The video is beautiful. So many pretty colors, and the set pieces are absolutely amazing. That outdoor scene in the second half is one of my favorites ever. I can't tell how much of it is real, but either way, it's impressive. I might check out a performance version because the choreo looks like it would be fun to watch.

This is still my favorite CSR song, followed by Pop? Pop! and ♡TiCON. Their newest song is really good too, even with the concept change.

I still prefer CSR's previous release, "♡Ticon". They actually won first place on Music Bank with the song, which WhyKnock always likes to bring up as the only case of a non-major Fourth Generation girl group winning on a publicly-broadcast music show:

And, 2 year later, CSR is still the only 4th Gen girl group not from a major company to win a major show and is likely to remain so unless Kiss of Life, the only remaining notable not-from-a-major-company 4th Gen act which has a (remote) shot, can manage that. (Qwer is not a traditional girl group and is not part of the equation.)
