  • Everybody can pave the way. It's not a race or a competition, contrary to what people say.

The people who get a bit fidgety and finicky over this road pavement debate have a scarcity mindset. They should adopt an abundance mindset. There's something for everyone.

History has shown us that a scarcity mindset is a catalyst for war. It's a common tactic political leaders use to convince their people to go to war and support war efforts. They push a scarcity mindset onto the people. They persuade them to believe their country is under threat of losing everything if they don't fight another nation that's allegedly posing the threat.

I see this same sad phenomenon happening in fanwars.

We can have world peace among K-pop fandoms if everyone would just understand that every K-pop group paves a different way. It's not just one way.

Sadly, folks are stuck in that scarcity mindset and just want to fight.

  • Bruce Lee paved the way indeed. The Way of the Dragon! If you know, you know.

  • RM going viral on twitter and it's just a bunch of kpop stans getting mad for the 100th time beating a dead horse.

    :meme-jerry-crying:

Kpop stans get their hit tweets talking shit about BTS

Meanwhile ARMYs promoting RM and BTS and giving hit tweets to rap fans/fans of Megan and because they were impressed and didn't know BTS could rap.

[new signature coming soon but in the meantime, read the facts below]

  • He said that line on the song. It's rapper lyricism. K-pop fans are just not used to stuff like that, so they'll take issue with anything that's a bit too self-praising for their taste.

It's reminiscent of how Jay Park got criticized for saying he paved the way for K-hip-hop like how BTS paved the way for K-pop. Of course, some K-pop fans would react like, "How dare he compare himself to BTS!"

Some even took it out of context entirely and twisted his words to imply that he said he paved the way for BTS. I don't know how you could mix that up, but that's how it goes in K-pop spaces.

  • :pepe-popcorn:

This isn't the first time he said it but putting it on as a lyric for this song seems effective at getting people pressed. :pepe-smug:

My fave moment was when he said there's someone hating on me on twitter rn in a response to an interview ques and kpop stans were sooo angry, they took it personally

  • nah bts could sneez funnily and still get 30k hate tweets about it from pressed kpop fans twitter trash, like didn't you posted hate tweets about RM looks the other day, they obviously get hit hate tweets just for existing.

I'm more surprised about the almost 300k viral tweet by a non fan praising him :twerkingpepe:

Edited once, last by Orsy ().

  • To be honest, as an Asian, I don’t really think BTS themselves are that impactful for Asian people. I’d even say their popularity has given music fan culture among Asians a bad name, though it’s not their fault. In my country, not many people know BTS well, or their songs, except for "Dynamite." What makes them 'well-known' here isn’t their songs going viral like other K-pop groups, but rather how toxic their fans are. Seriously, their fanbase is more well-known than BTS themselves for their toxicity and for harassing beloved popular artists in my country.

Individually, BTS members don’t seem as recognized as Bp’s among non kpop fans in Asia, and even less so in the West, where there are tons of famous artists overshadowed them. BTS is more known for their loud fanbase than for their music, which is sad because it stops them from truly representing Asian artists in the global music scene. Nobody takes them or even kpop seriously because of that. And their English songs quality were not really up there compared to their korean one so the push are mostly coming from their company and their big fandom rather than truly a huge hit despite staying well on America's music charts.

When you compare them to people like Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, Michelle Yeoh, or Jet Li—who are instantly recognized for their contributions as Asians in Western entertainment—BTS doesn’t quite measure up.

this is fucking bull shit theres no way toxic fans are what bts are known for im pretty sure you're just online asf. if you're talking about song quality then yes maybe people think bts sucks but those people think kpop sucks overall and is super gay

and i say this as someone who fucking hated the fandom when i was a bts fan

  • this is fucking bull shit theres no way toxic fans are what bts are known for im pretty sure you're just online asf. if you're talking about song quality then yes maybe people think bts sucks but those people think kpop sucks overall and is super gay

So, what do you think BTS are actually known for? "Dynamite" is arguably their first big hit outside of Korea that even non-fans recognize, but it still doesn’t surpass the level of popularity of hits that Big Bang, 2NE1, BLACKPINK, TWICE, and other 2nd-gen groups have, especially in Asia, particularly Southeast Asia. I’m basing this on what I’ve seen myself, both online and offline.

In my country, it’s pretty bad because their fans continuously behave immaturely, attacking lovable celebrities of ours. That's where Bts started to gain traction among locals here. And locals who didn't even know or like kpop started to shit on every Korean bg that they didn't recognise thinking those groups as Bts because of Armys. We’re in the modern era where many people are chronically online—like you and me, we wouldn’t be here otherwise—so it’s easy for this kind of sentiment to spread. If people don’t know any of BTS’s songs or members but can instantly recognize the fanbase, well, that says something. If you ask non-K-pop fans who are only aware of the group through what they’ve seen online, they’ll likely share the same narrative. I used to feel that way before I got into K-pop, and people around me still hold that kind of opinion.

there are many names that just pop up so much due to their popularity that people start to get familiarized with their name. bts is like the face of kpop for the past few years so a lot of people know their name without actually knowing their music. this is the most common pie of the global population. the people who are angered by the fans are a really small percentage of this pie.

  • Title should be "KPOPPIES mass-like each other because BTS success makes them bitter whilst their faves flop everywhere"

Also, it's hilarious to look at the name of those accounts, if you ever wonder who is the most miserable fandom, you get the answer so easily.

I would be mad too, if my faves were so mediocre lol

  • I think the problem was he saying for ASIA when we already knew so many asian celebs like some already mentioned here. In kpop sphere we can agree in some parts of the globalization of kpop, but anyways, nothing to be hating... :exit-pepe:

  • Well, at least he doesn't "dress up" as a black rapper like other ridiculous kpop idols usually do. I will give him that. I hope he is paving this way.
Also, he is the best part in that song, Megan sound like always, so boring.

When he started he obviously did like any other "normal" male rap idol :meme-life-support:

His stage name was Rap Monster and when they started getting big big he changed to RM and we know why :meme-erm:
