mid year evaluation: what's the biggest BOP and biggest FLOP of 2024 so far?

Biggest bops : Easy (lesserafim) and Love wins all (IU).

Down year for Kpop overall compared to previous years. It was hard coming up with top tier bops that could be SOTY contenders (my memory is bad so i might be missing a couple, both bops and flops).

BOPS (song that are or could reach 10 out of 10):

Smart - addictive af, the Korean lyrics are perfect and the song sneaks up on you.

Diamond by T.ribe - so underrated, the only negative is the weirdass lyrics, but i would say this is the surprise SOTY contender of the year so far.

Bubblegum - this is what retro should sound like and what NJ should move onto musically

Supernova - i feel gross just putting this song here given how toxic some MYs are but i am always honest when it comes to ranking songs.

FLOPS (songs that are 3 or worse and had high expectations from audience):

Accendio

Armageddon

Right Now

Sticky Icy Thang or whatever this Stayc monstrosity is called

BTW, anyone voting Smart as a flop has to be a LSRFM hater lol be for real please. I can understand picking Easy but NOT Smart. Of all the major releases from top groups, it's easily the best song. 10 out of 10 and a SOTY candidate.

Bop: like that, supernova, bam yang gang, spot, rockstar, bubblegum, maniac, abcd

Flop: how sweet, easy, super lady, Heya, zombie

I can't remember all flops, but bops I'm listening to them

Bops: Mr Vampire, Accendio, Fate, Deja Vu

Flops: Armageddon, Smoothie, Sticky, Blush

Don't know about flop of the year but VIRTUAL ANGEL is definitely bop of the year for me.

Soty: Mr. Vampire

Flop: super lady and right now, supernatural too

flop : jimin cocomelon

Bops- illit - magnetic, chungha- i'm ready, txt - deja vu, riize-impossible

Flops - a lot of mid songs , but nothing was really that memorable, like sticker for example

Bop: Red Velvet - Cosmic, NJ - Bubble Gum/How Sweet, LSFM - Easy, G-idle - Fate/Yuqi - Freak, Aespa - Supernova/Armageddon

Flops: All the Bad Villian songs, Seventeen - Maestro

Most of the songs so far are blops.
