Okay I tried with Chill Kill since it was always the first recommended song. I got this:
Chill Kill > Smoothie > Rooftop (YooA) > XXL > plot twist > Closer (Jihyo) > Happily Ever After (TXT) > Magnetic > Get a Guitar > Wish You Hell
From these, only TXT, Jihyo and ILLIT are songs I haven't listened more than 2-3 times this week. I do have Jihyo and TXT's songs saved in my "best of kpop" playlist (3k songs) but not ILLIT.
I dunno what I'm lookin for here but here's mine

Magnetic is on no.1 recommended list especially if you listen to it alot. Idk what you expect since it's the hottest hit in Kpop right now (in South Korea) Super Shy, Cupid, Bite Me, Omg, Queencard, Drama, One and Only, I AM etc all were recommended to me as the next songs to play last year during it's months of release time frame and mostly because I overplayed these songs as well.
I just tested it...
The only songs it didnt do this to me on where some Itzy ones, it was smart enough to give Itzy tracks next (but it still had Magnetic in the queue)

I HATE the song. It's bland and godawful.
Theres no way I'm intentionally listening to it. I listened to it once on Youtube on debut day and that was it.
Even in terms of kpop itself, I'm not listening to similar kpop stuff.

Magnetic is the popular hit atm, it will be everywhere.
All you had to do it ignore listening to it. Like I'm not going to be crying about a song that I hate.

When it's constantly inserting it's dull kids bop shittery into your listening, and you have to go out your way to get rid of it, only for it to come back again and again...
I dont get why Spotify doesnt "learn" if you skip a song constantly, that you dont want it.
Btw, you can disable autoplay of recommended songs. I had it disabled and enabled it to try this out. If you disable and play a random song, it doesn't play anything else, or plays the same song is you have loop activated.
It's perfect.

I generally like autoplay because USUALLY Spotify gets it right (eg by following up an Itzy song with more Itzy)

Here’s the thing, algorithms learn, but sometimes they’re a bit stubborn. When you skip a song, Spotify does take note, but it’s like teaching a goldfish to remember your favorite tunes. It might take a while for the system to catch on. It also maybe a start to not to take your frustration on Magnetic or Illit, it will come off as hate just saying.

But it could explain why they are doing so well on Spotify, they count it the moment the music starts playing. This once ruined my Spotify Wrap because one song of a German Rapper would always play after my playlist ended. And even though I skipped the song pretty fast he still ended up #1 on my Spotify most listened Song

From there I disabled autoplay, which is unfortunate because I actually like the idea to get new Songs recommended by Artists I don’t follow….

When I first got into Kpop, Spotify's Autoplay was obsessed with giving me a LOT of Vietnamese pop as well, and not jsut obviously new Vietnamese pop, I was getting what was clearly old old stuff. That was a weird time.
Know what else screws up Wrapped? Using spotify to play songs as your alarm clock each morning. I think thats why IVE wormed it's way so high for me. Lots of their songs are good alarm clock music.

I think it thinks that just because you like listening to GG songs, it would recommend GGs songs that are hot right now..Jen showed how she’s free from Magnetic because she listens to majority BGs..
I always got BP when they had comebacks eventhough I rarely play BP music. You can just skip, its not a big deal. But yeah even if you skip, Spotify won’t get the memo lol.
When you search I on spotify, first thing that comes up is ILLIT
You are me but with I Am. I had to block it because it was playing all the time and I'm one of two people that doesn't like the song. I was listening to agust d during that time, both songs/albums were released in april and for some reason spotify thought that every time I was finished with d-day i would like to hear I Am. And genres are nothing alike. I don't know how recommendations work but perhaps they recommend what's popular atm.
i honestly dont understand whats the big deal. it takes more than 30 secs to count as one stream . if u listen to a song for more than 30 secs, u like it. just skip if u dont like it. if ur on premium like me , u have an option not to auto play and will just stop after all the songs in ur pls are done. Also, spotify has a limit — it will only count up to 20 filtered streams per account ( if i am not mistaken) .
