Hitman bang needs to look at BP & his own act NJ to know the current formula is working
Releasing eng singles & eng album tracks alongside kor singles & kor tracks is the future of K-pop & BP+NJ will probably perfect it
It's not full eng albums like JK or the upcoming aespa eng album
And there are like 5 or 6 examples of this success while we have 40 failed
Yeah that’s because the songs are bad. But when the song is good for e.g D.O Rose the English version did better than the Korean version. It’s not any bb hot 100 level or anything but when something is good, it’s good.
I do believe English version of songs will have a bigger ceiling than the Korean version. Anyway imo for kpop it’s idol culture with their behind the scenes and their fan service and all those things that are far more important than the language of the song. It’s idol culture that’s popular not necessarily Korean as a language.
If you can get the same idol culture that fans love in a language that’s more understandable to a larger audience, it will indeed lead to bigger hits.

Agreed. It's not about ditching Korean as a language or Korean as a culture entirely. That won't work. It's about doing both and finding a good balance of it.
WhyKnock just has an unwarranted vendetta against Koreans.

That is because God of English Kyungsoo is singing it

Female acts might sell albums but long term income comes from concerts done by male acts.
BP was the only act which managed to rise that high, and NJ is not up to speed. Ive does a world tour, but NJ is still stuck in Korea.
And Bang is looking for a long term view. After reviewing the pool of trainees for the new Belief audition act, and the new would be trainees, he probably decided there are no long term future for a Kpop based in Korea, and a long term strategy has to be developed for the continued existence of his company.
This is a Kpop forum. Some true purists will still complain if English is used too much in songs even from BTS or BP, you can imagine what they'll think about upcoming global groups with non-Korean members. What they don't get is the next leg of development is not about them.
You kinda have to be outside the Kpop bubble looking in to grok what Bang sees.
Here's the issue simplified:
The Kpop industry has pretty much matured domestically, has gone global pretty much capturing most of the Kpop fan demographic (low hanging fruit) and to a much lesser extent the gp overseas. So if the mainstream is not wow'ed by the present offerings by peak Kpop, I don't know how you'd expect Kpop to meaningfully increase penetration, let alone make progress in becoming mainstream without letting go the parts of what's holding it back.
Can somebody please stop this man from cooking, I am so tired of his dumbass reactionary boomer takes. This "K" thing isn't even his worst take. A few months ago mofo said that Afrobeatz is gonna overtake Kpop. Yes, in streaming, you dumbass, but that's not what Kpop has been selling all these years. Somehow I doubt teen girls all over the world will start simping over grown african men. Not in this millennia for sure.
This dude is still pissed that they didn't hand him over the SM and with it the entire industry. He literally lucked out with BTS and now thinks he's some kind of a genius.

Future of K-pop is female
NJ & ive will sell even more tickets than their peers like treasure & NCT while having far more listeners listening to their music
