Why does every idol have their own YouTube channel now?
Why does every idol have their own YouTube channel now?
the better question is why not? If it earns them money and the work isnโt dangerously strenuous why wouldnโt they do it lol

for Shipdo, I don't think it will be Rei's channel.
I think it will be more like Fearless Kkura, which are now changing their channel not only for Kkura and her show but for other's too.
To think of it, Shuhua's Workdol is actually on an existing channel that are hosting a show called "Workman". Yep, Workdol is the idol version of this show. The show itself had been going for some years since I remembered that the PD crews of this show wanted to snatch Mijoo which were still shooting Learn Way back then in covid era.

so its not just their personal viewers but also depends on the channel and other contents uploaded

yep. I guess those 3 channel are more like a... content production house(?)
like 1thek but to more smaller scale.
And, speaking about the views, Workdol is indeed having more enjoyable format than Follow Rei. I think people there likes this kind of show when you work as something (there is a reason why Workman still going on even after 3 years passed), comedy will also caters more people. Meanwhile Follow Rei is more like a touring vlog(?) where you recommend places/stuffs that you must to visit/buy when you visit X location.
One more thing, i just skimmed through one of Shuhua's episodes.
I was frankly shocked.
I've openly stated in the past that i'm not a fan of hers, that Idle could easily do just as well as a 4 person group. She never came off well onstage or in variety, in fact, as a Miyeon stan, i remember getting irritated a couple times at the way Shuhua would talk to/about her.
But boy oh boy, did she shock me with her episode. She came off looking like she was born to do variety, she was engaging and interesting to watch. It's like she's better when she's NOT surrounded by her bandmates.
True and Shuhua is very popular with multis as well.

Yep, she is actually very loud and chaotic person. It just that she is shy with irl strangers back then.
(there is a reason why nevies like her vlive)
but on the recent comeback, it seems like she gained more confidence with outsiders

I remember she was getting lots of praise on ARMY twitter as well for standing up to haters on Vlive, maybe 1 or 2 years ago. I imagine the same happened in other fandoms.
So, she has quite a lot of appeal outside of her own fandom and can understand Nevies like her videos.

No, it's because she improved tremendously over the last couple of years. She improved her stage skills but she also improved her Korean. She used to be very insecure with her Korean skills, which made her avoid interactions outside of her bandmates. Now, even though she's not the best speaker in the world (below Yuqi and Minnie I reckon), she's good and confident enough to do solo activities. A couple of years ago, it would have been very unlikely.
lol
Why does every idol have their own YouTube channel now?
That's not shuha yt channel, all those videos have much more views bc they are in an already more popular channel with 3.8m views compares to rein one
You are forgetting how much the content in the video matters for the views, not only the group's popularity. Comparing the thumbnails from one another, Shuhua's content doesn't appear to be as repetitive as let's say the vlogs on Rei's channel. So maybe that's why the views on Shuhua's channel are more consistent?
Is Allkpop desperate for traffic that it resorts on pathetic troll like this poster
