Do people consider Jisoo’s solo at Coachella as live?

I think it's as live as dance k-pop gets. I think we should have at least 3 categories: lipsynced, live with backing track, and live. (And probably a fourth one: BACKING TRACK with live)

It's typical of any artist when dancing or movement is involved...kpop or not. Some parts are live vocals where other parts are backtrack.

Idk, my bar with K-pop is really low atm. I think it's live enough for this industry.

But I still think it should be in its own category. However, I've lost all my will to fight this losing battle.

I think it's unfair to put those who use backing track the whole song and those who use only in select parts in the same bucket. But also to put those whose voice you can hear with those whom, while not technically lipsynced, you can barely hear. But people will just bend the threshold for their faves and against their rivals.

Anyway, dance K-pop isn't the place where I look for or forward to live singing anymore.

And before anyone comes here with that "but western pop singers" crap, I don't care. I don't listen to western pop, so idgaf if they also lipsync.

for kpop, I think we can consider that live, but generally I would prefer to not call that live. Thankfully we have some big groups that tend to sing "fully" live like SKZ, Seventeen or ATEEZ

If this is not live for you, then 90% of kpop isn't doing live

They choose to do it in the open. I mean there are huge groups that lypsinc and pretend they are singing live ALL THE TIME. and they got caught by a misshap.

I think Jisoo was singing live over a backtrack. But her voice was clear and covered the backtrack

considering how common backtracking is in kpop i don't think this even needs a distinction. it's just the way it's done and while i'd prefer it to be all live it's understandable considering all the choreo.

Not all, but most kpop performances are backtracked…just go watch Inkigayo, music bank. Etc…the majority of performances are heavy w/backtrack. It’s not a big deal for me though.

Anyways people can see it clearly, she did had backtrack but she sung mostly live, if you can't clean your ears for that, its no one problem except yours.

obviously she was singing over a backing track but it was live I don't know why people even have doubts about it it's what bp always do but I guess she sounded too good that people are starting to question it

sure it's live, but what good is it if you're not singing louder than the backtrack?

people that went to coachella said she sounded good live mind you they were there not sure why people are starting to doubt Jisoo's vocals lately. Yeah there is backing track but she sings over that at least for majority when she is not dancing

The song is impossible to sing with choreo unless you're mah girl Morissette . All that switching into falsetto and back down to mixed voice, i already knew it was gonna be damn near impossible to perform without heavy background tracks.

Kpop fans are gonna need to choose one or the other...either have their faves sing live with no choreo, or accept heavy backtracks and shouted vocals as idols try desperately to somehow support their voices while their diaphragms are bouncing around, sometimes at Mach 5.
